The Most Important Election Of Our Life Time

There are cheers and tears, but its over for the next couple of years until we start all over again. Blessed is the calm before the next storm of what seems to be never ending attack upon the populace by the political onslaught. Some say this was the most important election in our life times. Heck, I've heard that about every election since I've been old enough to vote.

They are right. Every next election is the most important election of our life time, because we are lucky enough to have another one no matter the result. We choose our leaders by vote, not blood. Some win, some lose, but each election cycle is still bloodless, unlike many countries. We are blessed.

Some claim a mandate. Well the only mandate given is not a singular mandate in this country but a tri-mandate that only the mass give them. That of the executive, legislative and judicial. None is more important than the other and each are given a mandate to ensure a calm, cool and collective finalization of action. This is what allows me to sleep at night.
