Nov. 1, 2004 I've been receiving a lot of emails from people who really disagree with my last article about Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. However, I must address something, I do NOT take back anything I said except this. That even though the game is really not the best out of the series, it is still a decent game. If you don't like my review, then play it for yourself. Personally, I think the game is okay, it's fun yeah, but it's not really that great. Now, with that said, I must also address someone who I have no respect for. Mr. Jack Thompson, the ambulance chasin, John Edwards wannabe. By wannabe I mean a good lawyer. Mr. Thompson sent me a personal letter today, and I really don't know why. Here, read it for yourself. "John B. It is not surprising that you, a collection of white men, would market and sell to children two games that identify and single out women and people of color for violence. I just taped an interview for airing tonight on Black Entertainment Television and identified your company as being racist and misogynist in this activity. My wife is from the Twin Cities. I know that area of the country to be appropriately outraged by the targeting of African Americans and children in this way. I intend to let the media know in your area, and elsewhere, exactly what you white men are doing. PLEASE GOVERN YOURSELVES ACCORDINGLY. Sincerely, John B. Thompson" I even heard that MAPC, a soccer mom organization, is also trying to ban San Andreas and Vice City. I want to address something, right now, Jack Thompson obviously hasn't been to Best Buy lately. They CAN'T sell Grand Theft Auto to kids. Second of all, GTA doesn't discriminate against black people, and the game was NOT made by just white people. If anything, Jack Thompson is discriminating against white people. What do you mean white people? GTA San Andreas didn't discriminate against black people, Ice-T is black and he's in the game. If you play the game right, the BLACK MAN can get TONS OF MONEY, become wealthy and have nice cars and become the big man on campus. How is that discriminating? IT'S A GAME! Just a simple harmless G.A.M.E. Obviously, Mr. Thompson hasn't been around black people to even know what discriminating means. Yes, the game does have the word nigga in the game; however, the label says rated M for language. For that YOU, Mr. Jack Thompson, can't touch them, you can't sue them, and you can send ME all the letters you want, because I know you don't have a case. I may not have liked GTA: San Andreas as much as others have, but Jack Thompson still trying to "do the right thing" by getting rid of a simple video game is down right stupid. By the way? I don't work for Best Buy, so why give me the letter? Was you trying to make a point? And what point would that be?
