May 24, 2004 Well, when I read the title 'Tearing Away at The Music Biz" I was immediately enthralled - could it be possible that someone might have some information to share about getting into the music industry? Something that might help little 'ol me, a singer/songwriter struggling to get my music out into the world? No. It was someone's idea of humour. About not being able to unwrap a CD. Of all things, the pathetic inability to open a CD! A few paragraphs later, I was extremely bored. How long can this article go? How many people actually agree with it? HOW HARD IS IT REALLY TO OPEN A CD??? It seemed I was adequately inspired to write this article though - the article in question did not seem to fit into the 'useless knowledge' agenda. More likely the 'wasted knowledge' catagory. The author seemed determined to stretch an article out of it though! A few quips here and there about geeky, pimple-faced, un-intelligent teenagers, and cats that get in the way of the blasted unwrapping (yes, let's blame our animals for our incapabilities!) and the article dribbled on! I feel that if I was to write a comedic article about daily life, I would pick a topic that I believe most of the population would agree with me on. I haven't meet anyone that has thought opening a CD is hard, let alone thought of sharing that with an audience. Maybe the author is physically-challenged, if he finds opening a CD difficult? And perhaps mentally-challenged to think anyone would believe such an article 'interesting'?
