June 30, 2004 Cleaning out my closet....That's a new way of saying that someone wronged you in the past or maybe they still are, but today I am finally stong enough to tell them about it. The person doing the wrong doing might have been a friend, a relative, or even a bully from your past. We have all seen those talk shows, where a person was bullied in the past, and now they look real good so they bring the person who dogged them out on to the show to tell them they have changed, and the bully walks out and tells them what? "You haven't Changed!" And they are right. If you have to go threw all those changes to prove to someone who didn't like you that you have changed, then you still have a problem. Because when you change for the better and truly happy with yourself then when you see someone from your past you wouldn't care what that person had to say negative about you today. But when we clean out our closets. We find the experience to be liberating. But you need to be cautious....Don't be surprised or hurt when the person who wronged you doesn't remember what they did. Think of it this way. Would you want to remember treating somebody like dirt. Or better yet, Why would that person admit to it, when they have kept it in their CLOSET for so long already. If they were to go and open that door now, no telling what type of skeletons would come rolling out and they would have to own up to them... It's a scary thought for some people!!! ------------ About the author: Ms. Washington is a native of the midwest.
