![]() By Olabode Akintunde Smith June 27, 2004 I checked the meaning in intercession, it means "standing in the gap for somebody." You don't learn the ct of intercession, it's of the spirit. It is supernatural. We can ask grace from God by His spirit to intercede. If we say we want to intercede for people, it's like punishing ourselves because our power will run out in the process. The Bible says, not by might, nor by power but by my spirit, saith the Lord of host. (Zechariah 4: 6). Only by the Holy Spirit can we make intercession for us. Likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us in groaning which cannot be uttered, Romans 8: 26. Only the spirit of God can help the weaknesses in our body or mind. There are some needs that cannot be met by just any prayer, it will take someone to fast and pray to overcome the crisis. For instance if someone has an incurable disease, just any form of prayer cannot loose him/her. It will take fasting and prayers before the person can be healed. The prayer of faith availath much, (James 5: 16). The saints of God pray fervently as the Holy Spirit give them utterance. No matter how intense and protracted the sickness, there is solution for it. The Lord made provision for every problem in life. The spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.... You cannot groan in your understanding. When you're groaning, it's something of the spirit. You don't learn it. It comes from your heart through the Holy Spirit. Groaning and intercession receives quick response from the throne room of grace. You are not doing the praying yourself, when you totally submit to the Holy Spirit. Verse 27 of Romans 8 says, the spirit maketh intercession for us according to the will of God. If we don't pray according to the will of God, we are loosing out. Even Jesus, when He was taken up to heaven, sat down at the right hand of God, the Father, He also maketh intercession for all the saints of God, (Romans 8: 34). Many times, you fall into the snare of the devil. Jesus , son of the living God, stood and prayed for you, free you from the power of the devil. Saints of God, Jesus makes intercession for you and you have to do the same for others because somebody somewhere is praying for you; Decide today to pray for someone. James 5: 16 says, confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another that you may be healed. ------------ About the author Olabode Akintunde Smith: In 1990, the Lord said to me: “I am going to use you greatly for my glory.” And since then, I have been discovering more about my ministry. Afterward God said, “Everything I have been causing you to write must be documented every month in bulletin form that will be sent to the world”. God is faithful. When, (10) ten years later, I lost faith, the Holy Spirit stirred the vision again in me in April 2000. He reminded me that He would use all I have been writing to heal His people. Then the Holy Spirit nudged me to start this bulletin, which I believe, will develop into a full-fledged Magazine, Newsletter and the Internet.
