John Kerry As Santa: You’ll Get Everything You Want For Christmas
July 30, 2004

Teresa Kerry’s Santa syndrome. Elect my husband and you’ll get everything you want for Christmas. It may work in the world of billionaires, not in the real world.

We often wonder how much candidates actually believe of what they say about themselves? There comes a point when not even the candidate can swallow their talking points. The DNC Love-fest, Infomercial, Convention has gone on now for four days, Do we know more where Kerry and Edwards stand on the issues now, you may I don’t. I’ve been waiting for something spectacular to come out of all this. So far it’s "same old same old".

The biggest news this week in Boston is between the DNC and the Big Dig. Downtown Boston business are about to go into bankruptcy hampered by tight security and the free food provided by special interests.

I always thought the congestion entering downtown Boston was something contrived by Old Honey Fitz [Teddy’s Grandfather] to keep the riff-raff out and the Irish in.

John Kerry the want-a-be. Kerry came flying into Boston in his own privet jet, not a military fighter plane as George Bush did landing on the Aircraft Carrier. Next he took a ferry across the bay to the convention center. George Bush went to an Aircraft Carrier and then to Baghdad to meet with the troops. John Kerry is now using a war he actively protested in the seventies. George Bush served in the National Guard, as a fighter pilot, he never brings it up. Slick Willy sat out the war in England smoking Cuban cigars and sipping Russian Vodka.

How do we define our Heroes?

When John Kerry went before congress and admitted committing war crimes, had he been anyone else he would have been arrested and convicted of war crimes. For John Kerry using his war record now as a reason to elect him president after the disrespect he showed our country is unacceptable. He dishonors those who served, those who died.

“Do you have no shame Senator?”

There’re some good things coming from this DNC thing. Obama and Harold Ford seem to be two shinning stares in the Democratic Party. They are examples why my quest for a changed congress is advisable while there is still time. The founding fathers intended this to be a government of two political parties. Negotiable not adversarial or at least not to the point it has reached in recent years. One man one vote, seniority was never the intent of the founders.

There are bad things in the DNC. Robert Byrd a devout segregationist, former member of the KKK recently made a speech in the Senate using the “N” word. He didn’t even receive a slap on the hand. Several Republican members of congress have been severely chastised for using the “R” word, [respect] in conjunction to Confederate History. Others have been forced out of office for “F’ing” fondling. Teddy Kennedy causes the death of a young girl and goes Scot-free. So many say, but that was so long ago. Mary Ann would say, “I’m still dead.” There’s a double standard in congress, not something the constitution calls for.

There are only a few weeks before we go to the ballot box to make a choice. Which man will better lead us for the next four years? Which man do we trust to have their hand on the switch? A cold War term with even greater significance today. Do we elect a man who surrounds himself with those who make their living in the land of make-believe? Hollywood, Sun valley Vale, Martha Vineyard, Paris, Switzerland etc. etc. Or do we trust the good old American Cowboy whose friends are doers and thinkers?

I’ve made my decision. You make yours.
