July 24, 2004 O-key, do-key I have to buy gas too. Now that the price has gone down a bit I’m not considering using my old skateboard to “run to the store” but I am trying to make planned trips just to save this tired old planet from any more smog. When I do get petrol (gas), I get a soda drink so that I am full, too. Burp-y full. I got to thinking if we could get all the people who drink the over-sweet, carbonated sodas to consolidate their burps and a so on, maybe we could have a reusable non-pricey type of methane. If we could “channel” the political know-it-alls and the talk-show hosts and teen age girls to save “gas” for the CAUSE we could make some headway. Then there’s the Latin vote with refried beans, not to mention those of us who love cabbage and collard greens. Why, heck it could be a “blessing” for old folks. Of course transporting it would be a catch. But don’t they haul that stuff in truck pods, refrigerated even. So what comes around goes around. Like saving cans and glass and newspapers, there’d be a recycle bin for methane saving. If they paid a penny a hundred pounds it would get rid of all those unwanted and unloved pennies with Lincoln’s sad old mug. Think of the methane saving a going on at the Olympics and at football games. Golly gee, maybe we could run a bus or even a train. I know this doesn’t make perfect sense, okay? But at least I’m trying. Not only that, perhaps we could compress the methane in to huge kidney like bags and use as deterrents to Terrorists Evil-Doers. You know how I am. Got the graph for the TV spots for the candidates. Got the flow-charts for the mixed media head-talkers. I’m not thorough but I try. Sure is better than this 22 lb. cat that just ate the corners off my polish dog that I got at 7-11. ------------ About the RD Larson: I live on the left side of the US. I was Left handed.
