July 20, 2004 July in Holland, what could be more beautiful? The tulips have been planted and are pecking up through the rich brown soil. All the wooden shoes have been polished. Cottages have been re-thatched. The Dykes have all been inspected and found to be safe. Johan Peters can kick back and ponder what new political advice he can enlighten those stupid Americans with. Don’t take me wrong Johan we love hearing from you. It reminds us why we’re Americans and why we fought a war of independence. There are several articles of conduct in the UN rules of engagement. Please sight me chapter and verse those that approve be-heading civilians, using religious centers as ammunition storage facilities, training children of ten years in the art of killing. Hijacking Jets for use killing thousands of innocent civilians? You say that’s not all Arabs. I say it’s enough to piss Americans off. America is an 800-pound Gentle Giant; you don’t want to mess with. Like it or not that’s us and we aren’t changing. Where was the European outrage when the Serbs were ethnic-cleansing Muslims in the Balkans? Where is the outrage when the Palestinians send drugged children rigged as human bombs to kill Israelis? The outrage comes later when the Israelis retaliate. Where was the outrage when Saddam was killing his own people by the thousands? Many with chemical weapons, so called WMD’s. In European history when has any European country, [put aside Briton] ever gone to war to save an oppressed people. Europeans have set on the sidelines acquiescing for centuries. Europeans have always been the conquers or the conquered never the saviors. When Europe needed saving who did they call on, America? When Europe needs saving next time who will they call on, America? The best and the brightest of the nations all over the world come to America as a rejection of socialist policies of the European and other culture. They come for missed opportunities in their homelands. The rejection is a matter of pride with the Europeans. They cant abide there would be a place more desirable than Europe. The arrogance of Europeans is matched only by their inability to assimilate facts staring them in the face. If Europeans had their way America would send its Border Patrol to fight the war on terror knowing how effective they’ve been in the past. Perhaps the Europeans would then send a token force from the various Palace Guards Contingents as a good will jester. You made a reference to our patriotism, insinuating it doesn’t count. Perhaps in Europe in America we are very proud of our country and yes we’re overly patriotic. So---- what? Opinions Johan, you have one I have one, let the public decide.
