The Frog Prince - Prince Charles

By Louis J. de Deaux
July 19, 2004

My life long endearment toward Diana, Princess of Wales, placed me at odds with Prince Charles, more so after that frightful night in August of 1997. I was absolutely certain hers had been the Midas touch in reverse; so convinced was I after she married Charles that the comely damsel had bussed a Prince and converted him into an unseemly frog.

The path of life presents more twists than turns. Once the grief of lovely Shy Di’s passing had slowly dissipated, the lusterless Prince faded away into the gloomy fog of Brittany; that is, until another fateful day in July of 2004. This wonderful day I ran across an unbelievable article and a renewed Prince Charles emerged into my life, for a reason far beyond my wildest dream.

Prince Charles "…is the president of the Foundation for Integrated Health and he is passionate about integrated approaches to health care -- where complementary therapies work hand- in-hand with orthodox medicines." What a pleasant surprise, the kind Prince speaks in favor of benevolent alternative medicinal practices over often invasive and harmful conventional treatments. I never would have guessed such a notorious icon of the oligarchy was into natural medicine, how cool!

While married, both Prince Charles and Princess Diana evinced exuberant health, but it never occurred to me that they led a holistic life. I do not recall the charming Princess Di making mention of it, but she certainly looked the part. The article ends with a bold statement: “Prince Charles, a staunch campaigner for natural remedies and organic farming, has urged the government to include complementary medicine on the National Health Service (NHS).”

Somehow there always appears a disgruntled party pooper; usually some sort of know-it-all snob, green with envy for being upstaged by someone they are compelled to assault by word because they feel their professional acumen is being put to test. This is the case of Michael Baum, a renowned British surgeon whom evidently has exercised his entire medical career wearing blinders more appropriate of a carthorse. To wit: “"Your power and authority rest on an accident of birth. I don't begrudge you that authority, but I do beg you to exercise power with extreme caution when advising patients with life-threatening diseases to embrace unproven therapies," Baum said in an open letter published in the British Medical Journal.”

Assuredly, Prince Charles will dispense his benign medicine with greater “caution” than that displayed by Mr. Baum when by no “accident” this confused medical man prescribes chemotherapy for cancer patients; a therapy whose capacity to definitively cure cancer remains to date “unproven.” It is chemo patients that eventually “beg” to be taken off a medicine that does not cure them, causes them horrible suffering, makes them sicker than they were, and leaves them bankrupt before they die of cancer anyway. It is easy to understand how Mr. Baum could hardly find adulating “sycophants” amongst his patients; for when he is finished with them, they are left hairless, emaciated, living wrecks, facing the ugliest death imaginable.

I recently saw an interview of a nurse that works in the children's ward at one of the local cancer institutes that uses chemotherapy. I could see by the look on her face that she wasn't happy at all with what they do to these kids. So much so, that she and her fellow workers formed a foundation outside the clinic and funded with their own money to evidently try and make up for the horrendous suffering they subject their patients to, whom usually die anyway. Where, I asked myself, had I seen such a pathetic countenance as that shown by these impaired little bodies? Then I remembered with horror, in a pictorial of World War Two. Yes, it was incredible, the images of the small patients of one of my city’s most prominent cancer institutes were strikingly reminiscent of those bulging eyes staring from the squalid, broken bodies of the unfortunate Jewish children inside the horrifying Nazi concentration camps.

The inherent innocence children are born with leads them to blindly believe in the adults that care for them; thus, they do not contemplate the possibility that their benefactors will harm them, much less in order to make money. It is this pure credulity that does not allow a child to question the lethal chemicals their doctors introduce into their already frail bodies; he or she usually subjects themselves with joy, fully convinced they will soon be relieved of their “life-threatening” disease. But when kids realize their condition only worsens after extensive treatments, doubt begins to invade them and they inevitably ask what is going on? They cannot believe their caretakers ignore the harmful effects of the extremely debilitating therapy they administer to them. Unfortunately, people like Michael Baum are painfully aware of the limitations of their medicine, but continue to use it anyway and the little ones eventually succumb to the ferocious chemicals they are forcibly fed. When this occurs, the patients invariably bewail the loss of their loved one, but the doctors shield themselves behind a frightful mask of insensitivity and present any number of dull excuses in order to camouflage their rotund failure.

I am sure the following news items would have saddened Prince Charles.

One appeared in the BBC online edition of July 18, 2004: “Fellow researcher Dr Neil Shah said: "In the future we may be combining therapies that can, amongst them, override all the resistance mechanisms that allow cancer to evade individual therapies. "Cancer may be treated similarly to HIV, with a cocktail of drugs," he said.”

England’s top researchers speak of a “cocktail of drugs” as their only path to cure cancer and, even worse, not a single natural therapy is included in their Machiavellian combination.

The other news item in Forbes.com reveals surprising insights from the Web diary of Jerry Mayfield, a 56-year-old former Louisiana state trooper with chronic myelogenous leukemia; whom is making public, much to the chagrin of the manufacturer, the results of his treatment with an experimental drug. The article states: “In the first two days on the drug his white count plunged from 119,000 to 6,300." On June 1 he enthused, "Sometimes I cannot sleep at night for thinking about all the exciting results we are having … I know that some of these responses could be transient …”

Yes, “transient” is the key issue here and I am excited to see that for the first time the world can bear public witness to the results of said chemical treatment. Keep your eyes peeled at: www.newcmldrug.com and clicking on "Jerry's Diary."

I wish the unfortunate Mr. Mayfield the best of luck, sincerely hope Dr. Shah fails with his ghastly “cocktail” and invite both to give close consideration to the options Prince Charles promotes.

The children of the world with cancer, England in particular, can now enjoy the support of a grand celebrity who will struggle to protect them from evil men like Michael Baum. An obtuse person who, in the same vein as an insane man whom was my commander during the war in Vietnam, would “destroy them in order to save them.”

Unfortunately humanity is slow to learn. It was not long ago our greatest thinkers swore the earth was flat and the sun revolved around it. Many enlightened minds lost their lives when they rightly challenged such ponderous idiocies. Just as performing surgery without first undergoing asepsis is today considered a criminal act, no doubt in the future a medical professional that willfully bombards the human organism with lethal chemicals will also be legally typified as engaging in an act of criminality.

Hence, from this day onward I am compelled to defend the charming Charles with cape and sword. The medical community must put a stop to dangerous therapies that may very well constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

Three cheers for the Frog Prince.
