July 17, 2004 I was cruising through the newspapers on line looking for heroes this morning. Men and women who can stand upright for the Liberal Conservative Left Right and Center Party of which you who read here know I am the lone candidate for every office on your local ballot; every office that offers a write in line that you, the good people of this nation, will write me in for. I have made myself perfectly clear that once elected I will sell myself to the highest bidder in the effort to line my pockets and secure lifetime government benefits as befits an office holder of even one term. I believe that with one term I will be able to secure enough pockets lined with loot and medical and pension benefits that I will then be able to fade off into the sunset of glorious living, coming out occasionally to give a speech for 80,000 dollars a pop, just like the current office holders pop. But the crux of the matter is I have to first get elected and that takes heroes one can point to. Men and Women who have stood for the causes of the LCLRaCP (I was looking for an acronym that worked; but the best I could come up with was loadofcrap which isn’t an acronym at all) and I found this article and the subsequent website in the Detroit Free Press on line edition dated July 16th. While the article is about a gentleman named Asaad Kalasho, the reason I quote it here is due to the pictures found at www.asaadgroup.com. Man my heroes are all pictured there. From George Bush and Dick Cheney to Bill Clinton and the long time very conservative almost tapped for national office former Governor of Michigan John Engler 9who left the state when he was term limited out) and not to be left behind the current, much more liberal governor of that place, the lovely, Jennifer Granholm. All of the politicians pictured on that website have a smile (except for Dick Cheney who looks like he is having an intestinal problem) and their arms wrapped around Mr. Kalasho and his wife. It appears to me that these politicians embodied the philosophy of the LCLRaCP long before I came up with the idea. To them, now I see, I must bow even while I follow in their footsteps. That Mr. Kalasho played both sides of the fence in his donation strategy is not new in our nations politics but rather that he found a way to play a third side of a two sided fence by doing business with Saddam Hussein while both a Republican and A Democrat were in the white house is what makes him a particularly good choice for hero of the LCLRaCP. It is abhorrent that this Iraqi American would try to make money from the Hussein government while there were sanctions in place, if the allegations are true, but it is even more so that all of these politicians not acknowledge that they are actually working under the banner of LCLRaCP, even if they didn’t have words for it until I came along. After all the philosophy is there and the words I have used thus far should have been well with in the range of even the most monosyllabic Pol. This is what I stand for Honesty in politics. That is why I started this campaign by saying that I am for sale. Again I promise. Like my new heroes, that when you elect me to every office on your ballot by writing my name in on every line that I will sell that office or vote to the highest bidder. I promise to do this without qualm or remorse. It is a bright star in the sky and a feather in my cap that I, of all the politicians in the world, have been able to articulate what so many of them appear to do under the guise of “politics.” I should be elected and acknowledged for that articulation by having your vote. You may not know where my vote goes or who it is that bought it but you can be assured that it has been honestly sold and there will be pictures to show my pleasure at meeting my bidd… errrr…donors. Therefore my friends and fellow citizens rebuke not the humble civil servant who stands by leaning on a shovel while you swelter in bumper to bumper traffic, disparage not the government office worker who closes their service window just as you approach, rather praise them and know that in a small way this is a signal that all is well at the top of the heap. That as the leaders do the peons are emulating and that, my friend, should make you feel good about the heroes we put in office. Of which I want your vote that I too may be your hero.
