Aug 31, 2004 I was sitting at my computer last night, with the CNBC playing over my right shoulder. Chris Matthews was reporting live from the Republican National Convention, and he had a nice little panel of guests… I listened with half an ear, until the point where he went out into the crowd and started asking questions. He asked the crowd how many were Republicans, and there were cheers…but much to my un-surprise, there were boos. A smile lit up my face. So…they have landed. The college “free-radicals”. The people who fancy themselves more “in the know” because they’re liberals. Chris Matthews then interviewed one of these “free thinkers”. His reason for booing? Because George Bush “Had the convention here…what was he thinking?” Hm…well…I ask myself that when I think of why Kerry had his rally in Boston. Because it has to be held somewhere is of course not a good enough reason…but then again, I expect this kid wouldn’t accept anything I said as a “good reason”. I’m so glad that those people are out there, making sure that the rest of the world can see the truth…of course, I’m one of those people who believe if you’re going to protest, protest something that matters. Protest free speech…oh wait…you’re a liberal, so it’s free until someone else has a different opinion…I forgot that you’re the only one who can be right, with your politically correct stance, that way, you’re never wrong! If you don’t stand absolutely for anything, how can you ever be wrong? My opinion is EXTREMELY different than what a liberal would want to hear…but you know what? Whatever silliness comes spilling out of your mouth is wrong to me! Isn’t the world a wonderful place! When two people can be right! When I can keep my opinions to myself and do what my conscience tells me is right for me, but still be “guilty” in the eyes of others because I don’t agree with them? Oh well…I forgot…we’re a democracy…oh wait… And to the Repubic, for which it stands… Ooops… Oh well…looks like America is full of crap anyway… screw it…I’ll just sit back and let all of you all duke it out…that’s what my America is all about… Watching the failures of others…mmmm…isn’t life grand? ------------ About the author: Paul Arnold is a guy who has reached the point where he doesn't CARE who is President this time next year...
