John Kerry’s War Record=Even More Lies Emerge?

By Sher Zieve
Aug 28, 2004

Although it seemed inevitable that even more Kerry less-than-true statements would emerge, I have to admit that even I was surprised by the sources. Yesterday, Bob Novak’s column was in regards to the now-infamous first Purple Heart that Kerry received. Mr. Novak had interviewed Rear Adm. William L. Schachte Jr. (Ret.), who said: “I was absolutely in the skimmer" in the early morning on Dec. 2, 1968, when Lt. (junior grade) John Kerry was involved in an incident that led to his first Purple Heart. Rear Adm. Schachte confirmed the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth account that the injury Kerry received was from a self-inflicted wound, as the Admiral told Novak: "Kerry nicked himself with a M-79 [grenade launcher]." Today, yet another Kerry falsehood (AKA “lie”) has emerged. As reported by Thomas Lipscomb (Chicago Sun-Times), Former Navy Secretary John Lehman says that Kerry’s Silver Star citation (which appears on Kerry’s website and over Lehman’s signature) was never authorized by him [Lehman] and "It is a total mystery to me. I never saw it. I never signed it. I never approved it. And the additional language it contains was not written by me." When asked how this could have occurred, Lehman said that he had no idea but, that it might have been signed via an autopen device.

Kerry’s lies have (if they haven’t before) gotten completely out of hand. Mr. Kerry (NOT President Bush or the GOP) was the one who made his “4 month Viet Nam Hero Tour” the platform for his campaign. Mr. Kerry (NOT President Bush or the GOP) is the one who has floated the lies and then re-floated new ones when the first [several] lies were uncovered. Mr. Kerry’s continuing penchant for skirting the truth, his lack of [any] leadership abilities and his (thus far) presentation of no plan whatsoever for the US under his reign (except to “raise taxes”) all point to the inevitable fact that this individual had no purpose running for the Presidency of the United States; let alone being elected. That an individual of this caliber could even be considered is a tragic circumstance for the country and will, more than likely, gain a page in Ripley’s “Believe It Or Not”.
