Letter to Alan Keyes

By Lee Zelhart
Aug 23, 2004

Dear Mr. Alan Keyes: I know you don't know me. I'm not very familiar with you, but I'm glad to have you running, albeit from a slight disadvantage. Sorry about that, but we Republicans, as you know, can't help shooting ourselves in the foot, or eating our own wounded. Sometimes our own young. I wish you well and success. We can't afford to sell the state to the Daly Democratic Machine in Chicago. I don't know where you propose to take up residence in the state, but I think the central part is nice. At least don't forget to visit while the campaign lasts. I hope we get to see you quite a bit. I am sick and tired of seeing Illinois in the hands of, and being run by folks up in Northern Illinois. They have only one function: To empower the Daly's and their minions.

Senator, sorry about my gaff, I want you to know I will do anything I can to help you (please don't ask for money, I'm broke and no lie.) Yard signs, whatever. This Obama fellow might be very nice as a person, but I don't agree with his political bedbuddies. The fact that he spoke at the DNC convention shows he is comfortable in bad crowds. I say anything is better then that bunch and in your case we are very lucky to have you as our candidate. We must not fail to get you elected and Democrats, like Cockroaches, are hard to get rid of once they are in.

For those who read this otherwise I ask, if you live in the Land of Lincoln, let's support a good man for the Senate. Get behind him with me. If you can help out, better. I'm not a fund raiser, but if you want to contribute...well contact Senator Keyes' people. Let's keep Illinois free with Keyes. I don't give a snot what the Chicago land papers say. They are run by Daly stooges.
