Aug 23, 2004 Since my last column of how the WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment, is in my opinion, horrible, I received several emails from people who were for or against my statements on how the WWE is horrible. Therefore, I figure I will write more about how the WWE Wrestling is horrible. First of all, let’s start off with the WWE reality show, Tough Enough, and I use this term loosely. Tough Enough is the reality television show that pits several young kids who want to be professional wrestlers. Instead of being like other great wrestlers, they don’t have to spend four or five years in independent wrestling organizations busting their asses and trying to make a name for themselves, oh no, they can easily learn mediocre moves and get a contract to be the next jobber err I mean wrestler in the WWE. Case in point the first season of Tough Enough pitted Maven and Nidia as the winners of Tough Enough in where Maven and Nidia are now wrestlers, bad wrestlers to be exact. Nidia was then pitted with a redneck lightweight wrestler, she then became the walking joke of WWE Smackdown and Maven became the one of those wrestlers that had that “hey look, I’m a good guy” attitude where people would cheer for him for being the underdog, even I was rooting for Maven when he would fight the big bad Undertaker or hopes to be world-champion when he faced HHH, but now every time I hear his theme song, I’m like, “Great here comes the jobber”. Jobber is a term for wrestler whose job is to lose. Tough Enough II came and pitted two women as the winners; one woman is now mistaken for a man and another woman is your average dumb blonde that wears scantily clad clothing and pretending she’s going to be on the cover of Playboy anytime soon. Enough of Tough Enough, let’s move onto today’s RAW. Of course the wedding of Lita and Kane, which is a redundant story from past stories like Randy “Macho Man” Savage and the late Miss Elizabeth and Triple H and Stephanie McMahon; in other words, this has been done before, let’s try something different. Vince McMahon is not as stupid as I may have given him credit for, no one could make close to 4 billion dollars on wrestling and be stupid. In case you’re not familiar with the Lita, Kane, and Matt Hardy storyline let me enlighten you. Lita and Matt Hardy are dating and Lita found out she was pregnant. Kane has had a liking to Lita, and since his gimmick is to be some deranged monster, he lusts for her. Somehow Kane and Lita got together and apparently made a deal and in return Kane would leave Lita alone; therefore, Kane had sex with Lita getting her pregnant; however, he refused to leave her alone. Matt Hardy was upset and at SummerSlam he and Kane fought and whoever won would marry Lita. Kane won. Kane and Lita are to be married. I’m taking a guess of what will happen, because it’s happened way to many times. In case you’re not familiar with wrestling and their storylines, it’s only natural for good guys to turn bad and for bad guys to turn good. My guess is Lita will turn bad and go with Kane and then marry him. Here is the problem, if my guess is right then yes the storyline was recycled; because HHH and Stephanie did the same storyline. I received an email from a guy who said that I should just shut up and stop watching wrestling. Well, I don’t watch wrestling anymore, nor do I plan on watching more of WWE wrestling. I received another email that said my comments on Randy Orton were completely false because they were bringing his character up to be the next world champion. I’m sorry to say, but if Vince was bringing Randy Orton up as world champion, then he turned a blind eye to several great Raw superstars that could have been great champions. Rob Van Dam, Shelton Benjamin, Kane, and Christian have put their very existence on the line to give a great show for Vince and The WWE. What has Randy Orton done? This is why the WWE is horrible, and whether you agree with me or not, it doesn’t really matter because you can’t deny that the WWE is redundant and quite frankly, boring. ------------ About the author Eric Schomburg: Visit http://www.geocities.com/schomburg2002.
