Your Spiritual Revolution

By L.J. Chapman
Aug 19, 2004

I was a lost soul. I couldn't tell whether I was coming or going. I tried this religion, that religion, before finally deeming myself an Episcopalian and moving on.

But then it happened, I got my daily Buddhist wisdom in my email and in it was the Dahli Lama calling forth for me to have a revolution. Not just any revolution, but a spiritual one. I sat and pondered for awhile and decided that I would do it. After all, what did I have to lose?

I sat and pondered, I'm already a pacifist, I don't endorse violence of any sort. I'm a peaceful person in general. What exactly was I looking for? I sat and sat until one day the revelution came to me. "Comfort and Love" it said to me. "Comfort and Love".

So there it was, the simpilest answer in the world staring me in the face. Bring comfort and love to those around me and comfort and love will come back to me. So simple. Why was it so hard to find?

It's hard to find because we are in a world moved my money and the one with the most wins the prize. We live in a world where the comfort of ourselves outweighs the comfort of others. A world that when you look at it that way, is not a very pleasant place to live in.

So there it is, the best way to make the world a better place and yourself a better person. A way to make everything in your world align. "Comfort and Love". Comfort for those around you and comfort for yourself. Love for those in need of love and those not in need of love. Love for those who don't deserve love and love for those you think do. Comfort and Love, Love and Comfort. Two words that can do so much.

Maybe that's not everyone's calling in life, maybe that's not everyone's way. But it seems like the way to make the world a little more tolerable.

I suggest that everyone else has their own spiritual revolution. A way to find out what they need to do. Or even a way to find out what they're not to do. Try it. It make work out for the best for you. It did for me.
