John Kerry Says "War Shouldn’t Be Confused With The Warrior"

By Sher Zieve
Aug 18, 2004

In today’s John Kerry televised speech to the VFW, he said: “Never again in America should the war be confused with the warrior.” Wait a minute, Mr. Kerry! Isn’t that exactly what you did, upon your return from 4 months in Viet Nam? You spoke in front of the Senate about the “atrocities” your fellow soldiers had inflicted upon “innocent Vietnamese”, on television with Dick Cavett (where you advised that you had engaged in committing the same "atrocities") and even engaged in a debate with John O’Neill (co-author of Unfit For Command. Note: In the debate with O’Neill, John Kerry was on the anti-veteran, anti-war and anti-American side.

YOU, Mr. Kerry, are one of the major reasons that “war is confused with the warrior”. You are the one who perpetrated the injustices against your brothers and are now still condemning them (while attempting to censor “Unfit For Command”) once again; by having your lawyers intimidate television stations and the individual [former] soldiers who contributed [to the book] with lawsuits. Your former “boat-mates”, however, are hanging tough and standing strong. Truth has a way of giving humans strength. The Swiftboat Veterans For Truth are having to prove that strength every day. If what they are saying is not true, you have a remedy. Mr. Kerry, open up ALL of you military records and let us see the “journal” you kept while you were in Viet Nam. And, while you’re at it, why not release the records of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s “private” meeting attendees. You could clear up all manner of rumors, Mr. Kerry, if you would just “come clean” and open up your records. Or…would opening up your records create even more problems for you? Mr. Kerry, these are legitimate questions and only you can answer them.
