Aug 5, 2004 I just finished reading, yet, another article telling me that Michael Moore’s anti-American film “Fahrenheit 9/11” (did Moore ever apologize to Ray Bradbury?) will still be considered for an Oscar nod. The film was shown on Cuban television so, as Hollywood’s “rule” is that films being considered for upcoming Oscars may not be shown on TV, should not be under consideration for Hollywood’s highest award. However, the Moore folks had that covered. They, apparently, concocted the story that the film had been “pirated” by the Cubans, to keep it in play for a potential Oscar. This is a prime example of Hollywood changing its rules for one of its own. Moore, Hollywood believes, has created a great deal of publicity for its Socialist/Communist cause and has been given a resounding pass. Does anyone really believe the pirating story? If “anyone” does, offer them another cup of Kool-Aid. C’mon! Moore has even distributed the film in Communist China. So, believing that he affected distribution in Cuba shouldn’t be a stretch. The reason I bring John Kerry into the mix is that he, also, was given and is still being given a pass. Despite Kerry’s admissions that he committed war crimes in Viet Nam, he has never even been charged with anything. The [very] few Kerry interviews the members of our “mainstream liberal press” have conducted on this subject all seem to end when Mr. Kerry says: “I was young” or “those were different times”. Huh? So, war crimes are okay with the press if they were carried out when one was young or if the “times were different”? More truthfully, the mainstream press seems to believe that anything is acceptable if a candidate is of the correct political persuasion; that’s liberal/leftist, folks. Can you imagine what the press would be doing if President Bush had committed any crime at all, let alone “war crimes”? The blood would be everywhere! Yes, John Kerry and Michael Moore are soul brothers and were both honored at the Democrat’s Convention. Neither one of them has been called to task; Moore on the lies his movie purports or Kerry for the war crimes he said he committed. Can America’s liberties remain intact when its “free press” has moved to license instead of free speech? Our “mainstream press” has moved completely into the realm of not only a lack of responsibility but, abject and total abandonment of any and all principles.
