Apr 16, 2004 What if the Chief of Staff to the Vice-President of the United States committed a series of murders to cover his tracks? What if you were a member of a newly form agency called Department of Counter-Intelligence, who soon be hot on his tail? Would you arrest him? The Chief of Staff's political power is very well known. Would you report the crime to your Director at DCI, and would the Director do anything about it, knowing the situation? Or would you turn a blind eye to protect the nation from another embarrassing moment? These are the questions Max Stone must resolve in my novel, Executive Betrayal. At the moment of the murders he professes allegiance to Director Peters, but he questions whether he has made the right choice. A quick promotion from FBI agent, to DCI, TTF- Terrorist Task Force, puts him into a job that can overwhelm him. He supports the Director's action on backing off on some of the issues with the case. But within weeks a series of events makes Stone wonder if the Chief of Staff to the VP is as honorable as he seems. Max Stone digs for the truth and unearths secrets woven deeply within the infrastructure of the government. Secrets that touch even his family, but he may be digging his own grave.
