Apr 23, 2004 Caught in the middle of this useless information pursuit, I tried to summon my beautiful mind for such information. I came up empty. I have no useless information in my head or anywhere near my head. I however have watched CNN, MSNBC, FOX NETWORK, ESPN (I. and II.) and discovered a great deal of the stuff. One only needs to watch “Meet The Press,” “The Today Show,” and Jerry Springer to fill your mind with useless information. Here's a great example, “The Larry King Show.” Tonight (April 21, 2004) the King had all the participants in “The Apprentice” program (which was a yawner from the get-go). Gee, I discovered that the apprentice wannabes possessed egos even larger than the Trump Man himself. Wow, that was something I needed to know. Another thing I needed to know is how much Bush and Kerry can slam-dunk each other. Another mindless exercise of the obvious displayed in their million- dollar fist-fights on primetime. Hey, and how about that Kobe Bryant case? That's a real nail biter isn't it? And of course, let us not forget the prolonged and way too laughable court trial forthcoming for the King of Pop (or should I say the Perve of Pop?). Gee, how much will the kid's family milk from the baby bouncing popstar? Let's not forget the great information we have picked up from the Mars Rovers as they zoom over the Martian red zones. Oh, that's right the entire wasteland is red, but let's send people there and find out that it's of no use (sorta like the moonwalk). Don't forget, too, that we can always catch up on the golf matches from ten years ago on the Golfing Channel. Man, I can't live without watching the thrill of putts made in 1958. Of course, I could go on forever, but like I said. I have no useless information in my head or anywhere near my head. It's all on television. ------------ About the author: Visit Stan's Place: A Quiet Place (http://stangrimes.com) Painful poetry.
