May 29, 2003 For the Democrats to win back the White House and/or either house of Congress, the economy must crater...big time. They'll be in a position to claim that it was Bush's tax cuts that "caused" the economy to crash and don't think for a minute that they aren't hoping for just that event...praying for it, even. It's a sad state of affairs when a political party will resort to obstructing what is a PROVEN method for economic recovery--allowing Americans to keep more of the money they earn--simply in order to have a chance at regaining control of the government. Just another indication to me that Democrats, at least at the national level, are totally without character and without a fine- tuned moral sense. Other indications of the ethical bankruptcy of the Democrat Party are legion. For example, whenever taxes are mentioned (except proposals to RAISE 'em) they predictably trot out that old "tax breaks for the rich" canard. In short, they routinely invoke class envy, despite the FACT that there are more Democrat millionaires in Congress than Republicans--a fact that most Democrats keep very much to themselves as if ashamed of it. Democrat tactics are designed at every turn to divide Americans and pit one group against another--blacks against whites, the poor against the not-so-poor, women against men, homosexuals against straights, ad nauseum, ad infinitum. As sickening as that tactic is, it actually worked for decades...until, that is, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and PBS, The New York Times, Washington Post and L.A. Times suddenly were no longer the principle source of information for the public. It must have been a real epiphany for many New Yorkers, Washingtonians and Angelinos to discover that they'd been led around by their noses all these years by "news" organizations with a decidedly left-wing bias. NewsMax recently reported that a recent survey finds that about 75% of Americans have turned to cable TV and radio as their main source of daily news. But, back to the main point. For the Democrats to win in 2004 (or 2008, for that matter) they've got to hope for an economic disaster. Given that they've shown little inclination to restrain their unethical impulses, don't be surprised if the national Democrat Party doesn't try to INTENTIONALLY sabotage the American economy. They could do this in a variety of ways-- "predicting" stock market gloom and doom, which sometimes becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. With the major news organizations touting this prognostication, especially so. They could use their delaying tactics (the same ones they're using to block Bush's judicial nominees) to prevent the passage of any number of economic stimulus bills. Their Presidential aspirants could suddenly fall into lockstep and ALL predict disaster which too could become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Don't put it past them to pull any shenanigan imaginable to trash the American marketplace-- including encouraging another terrorist strike against American soil--if it will get them what they fervently desire.
