The Democrat's Revised Dictionary
May 15, 2003

While the Republican Party goes about the business of government, the Democrats seem to be engaging in other pursuits. In fact, word has it that the Dems are planning on putting out their own New, Revised American Dictionary. One hesitates to reveal too much about a new book. Nevertheless, giving the reader just a taste of what is to come may whet the appetite. So, here are a few entries:

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Although "dope-smoking, womanizing, draft- dodging liar" was considered, the final entry was "Al Sharpton". (Joseph Lieberman's quote "We have fine candidate(s) like Al Sharpton". This definition was previously associated with the word “Buffoon.”

HERO

"Someone who runs from a fight rather than stand for something, even if flight is illegal." Chief architect of this new revision is Martin Frost, a Democratic representative from Texas. Frost said "They are doing the right thing... They are heroes." He was referring to the 58 Democratic representatives who fled the Texas House and illegally took up refuge in Oklahoma to avoid a quorum as the House was about to consider a redistricting plan unfavorable to the Democrats. New definition taken from old definition for “Coward.”

CONSCIENCE

Senator Robert Byrd. Byrd is generally known by Democratic colleagues as the “conscience of the Senate.” The Senior Senator from West Virginia has been caught using the phrase “white nigger” in a Fox News interview and is a former member of the KKK. He was, in fact, a recruiter for the organization and had often expressed his sympathy with their views after he had resigned from the organization. He now launches diatribes against President Bush on a regular basis to help CNN fill their spare time. Formerly the entry for "Guilty Conscience."
