Saddam Gets His Day In Court And You Won't Believe What He Had To Say

By Kaycee Nilson
Mar. 3, 2006

On Tuesday, February 28, 2006, several Shiite Moslems testified against Saddam Hussein as to the nerve gassing of their village by the name of Dujayl. The reasoning behind the gassing of this village? A failed assassination attempt on Saddam's life in 1982.

Just yesterday, March 1, 2006, Saddam caused yet another outburst in the courtroom stating that he alone, and not his co-defendants, is responsible for the village of Dujayl. He stated the reason why and then he had the AUDACITY to ask, "What is the crime in what I did?"

This trial of one former dictator named Saddam Hussein has been marked by random and often outbursts by Hussein. Hussein is a Defense lawyer's nightmare. His outbursts have had him implicate himself in the crimes against humanity.

This person actually thinks that nearly wiping out an entire village is ok, no problem. The world will turn our backs and say, "Oh but Saddam was almost killed, so this is ok."

Can we say delusional? I thought you could!

So Thursday night I was watching a show about the war crimes of the Nazi party. Similarities ran though my head as I watched about the labor camps and the cyanide showers. For some reason I pictured Krakow, Poland as Dujayl, Iraq. I realized that history does repeat itself. Hitler and Hussein are cut from the same cloth and the world would be a better place if they execute Saddam.

It just boggles my mind that this guy thinks that the world is simply going to look the other way about nerve gassing babies because of what the parents' religious beliefs. For that I think that Saddam's roommate should be Charles Manson. There's a match made in heaven!

They say that every dog has it's day in court. But Sadddam's days in court is longer than one day and it's going to be longer if he doesn't shut up, sit down and let his lawyers handle these crimes that he committed.

The more that this man is allowed to stand up in court proceedings and say "yes I did it, but what is the crime?" Am I missing something? Does the UN take better medications than I do?

We all know he will not be put to death, but in the bible, it says "An eye for an eye," so after that saying, I think Saddam should be placed in a cell with no windows and nerve gassed.

I can hear it now "Dear Kaycee, you are so wrong, let me tell you about inhumanity ____________________." But I have always thought that there would be less crime in America if we had televised executions during Monday Nigh Football.

Think about it before I get hate mail or personally attacked on message boards. What would you do to Saddam Hussein if you were the head of the Trial and it was up to you to punish this man?
