Dec. 25, 2005 Custer’s Last Stand – a small band of gallant American soldiers fighting gloriously against a whelming horde of half naked savages … The myth – the usual myth of white supremacy even in death, a myth to be repeated everywhere indigenous people were (are) being oppressed: against the Africans in Africa, against the Chinese in China; against the brown skinned South Americans and the Native Americans – my people of continental North America the myth that when the white man came to steal our land it was always in a blaze of glory when the lost and similarly couched in colorful details when he won. Well despite having conducted the same amount of damage to native American peoples as a great number of so-called pioneer heroes Custer stuck out as probably one of the most enigmatic and so Custer’s Last Stand became ingrained in my mine throughout my early reading days. It is said that when you want to hide certain historical or other important facts from a certain peoples, hide that information in a book … I have read Derek Batten's Custer And Battle Of Little Big Horn and it turns out”... there may have never been any ‘last stand’ at all..” And all the long years historians Hollywood and buffs have been sucking it up to us about the General glorious in death and defeat – so, how many other myths have or rather are just hot air? Lewis and Clark (we know how an Indian squaw helped the tow hombres navigate). How about the Alamo (Sam Houston and the boys), Wild Bill, yeah, historians never saw the evil in killing off thousands of buffalo – wild domestic herds of/for my people ) Davy Crockett, Dan Boone (well! Might not slammer Boone because I personally met a what? Hundred generation Boone … who lived most of his life in East Africa and was quite a great guy!). How about the race to build the great Eastern and Western Railroads – native American Indians were treated no better than buffalo and bison – the settlers and pioneers became heroes. How about Iwo Jima, the battle of/for the Gaudacanals, Pearl Harbour?[conspiracy theorists say CIA knew?]. How much of that was all lip … I guess Hiroshima and Nagaski were very factual, but certain details about Vietnam – My Lai... the napalm bombings the Agent Orange defoliations, the Korean war… Abu Ghraib (and dang Lindy E. is ugly!) The point is- as according to one of Hilter's henchmen 'history is for the victors to write' and we can all imagine what the Hilters, Mussolinis, The japs would have written if they had won the war – the Japs would have called the atomic bombing of New York and Washington D.C. justified. But back to General Custer’s no Last Stand and it seems "Custer and his 210 men, many mutilated and scalped, had been discovered on a nearby hill …"……....... "it seems that Custer’s men were outnumbered and out gunned Custer himself was killed by two bullet wounds." (May be in the back). And so nothing so spectacularly emotive happened on a dusty hill in Montana; over a hundred years ago: the man/men died ignomiously and that was it. ------------ Email Stephen Lonewolf Makama: lonewolfmak@yahoo.com Tell a friend about this site! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com.
