I'm One Angry Cracker [White Boy]

By Ken Hughes
Sept. 28, 2005

Yes, I am angry, I’m going to restrain my anger and simply point out the hypocrisy of those blacks appearing on the national media instigating racial unrest. Charles Rangel, Al Sharpten, and several black political leaders have all appeared on Fox Cable News using some of the vilest language I’ve [ever] heard used by public leaders, Their comments sound like something one would expect to hear from a mentally deranged inmate in a public institution, or a homeless derelict living in the streets.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream it was for racial equality, he gave his life to achieve those ends, his dram has been achieved ten fold. Dr. King’s dream is being tramples in the filth of comments uttered by a segment of the black community who keeps racial division alive. The blacks who lead this charge aren’t from the ghettos of America, they come from the white neighborhoods of their cities. Those blacks who are speaking out achieved their eloquence at elite Universities who gained entry through affirmative action and government grants paid for by all the taxpayers. Dr. King’s dream was to see little black children and little white children playing together in school yards, and public parks as equals. They do in the world of those blacks who live as whites and proclaim, “Poor Black Me” when given an opportunity. Their children live in the comfortable white side of town. Their children only see the ghetto through the darkened windows of a limousine as they pass through on their way to church.

Are blacks really Gods chosen victims or is that what they’re led to believe by their black leaders, rather should I say the blacks who speak for the minority of the black community. The majority of blacks have assimilated into an everyday lifestyle. They’re unrecognizable as blacks because they’re our neighbors, they have names and faces, jobs and homes, they’re just like us because they are us. we recognize them as equals.

There’s the other segment of the black community they’re unwilling to put forth the effort to attain an education, to pull themselves up from the meager existence they claim society’s forced on them. A few require our assistance but not housing projects filled with them. America spends more tax money on elevating the conditions of the poor than any country on earth. Yet we get little credit of what we do. Statically economic conditions for blacks are at an all time high. It seem that’s when the whiners holler the loudest. Nothing seems to satisfy that segment of the black community dependent of others for their existence.

Today I was talking with a friend who came to America at age 40 from Uzbekistan. He didn’t speak English, he didn’t have any money, His only relative living in America was his sister who didn’t have much money, the best she could offer him was a place to sleep and meals. That was ten years ago, today he’s a successful housing contractor driving a new Ford F-250 pick-up truck, living in a half million dollar home.

Mexicans and other illegal immigrants come by the droves. The myth they work for minimum wage is just that a myth. They are very much in demand in the building trades for semi-skilled labor paying as much as $ 15.00 an hour. Why are American businessmen hiring these people when the unemployment rate in the African American community is so high? Contractors hire workers not shirkers, I’m told by several of my contractor friends those African Americans who’re willing to do a days work for a days pay are working. Those who want a days pay to stay home are the unemployed.

If Brothers Rangel, Sharpten, Jackson, and the rest of the un-named expect change, they’ll have to instigate it from now on. The outpouring of generosity for the Katrina victims and the lack of apparition has clouded the publics mind for future compassion.

This isn’t an indictment of all African Americans, It’s an indictment of those who pray on those of lesser means than the average. Rather than lifting them up they stand on their heads and hands telling them it’s a hopeless cause to expect to ever rise above their circumstance. To blame it on White America for the actions of those who lived in the past is beyond stupid. We are not the White segregationists of our ancestors. Today’s blacks are not the victims of the past.

America’s the land of opportunity, that’s why they come from around the world. Their dream has always been to come to America where everything is possible if you’re willing to work.
