My Tribute To Don Adams

By Bob D. Caterino
Sept. 27, 2005

One of my favorite comedians of all time passed today. Would you believe he was in my top ten? Would you believe he was at least funny? Don Addams passed on Monday and it came to a shock to me. Maxwell Smart secret agent 86 for the C.O.N.T.R.O.L. agency passed. He received a grand going away parting from many of his control agents. You may have not read about this because after all this was a secret affair held in a giant cone of silence dome. Himi was there also the Chief, 99, agent thirteen and even C.H.A.O.S. agent Siegfried.

Don also stared as the cartoon voice of Tennessee Tuxedo as well as the bumbling detective on the Bill Dana television show. His creation of Inspector gadget spawned many takeoffs which lasted all through the eighties and nineties.

Don despite what you will read in the up coming internet pages enveloped in the roll as agent 86. His smart move was acquiring partial ownership of the television show which made him a rich man in more ways then one.

Don was as funny off the screen as he was on. He will be missed by me as well as countless others. My favorite line on that show was “Give a man an inch.” His better half on the show would say “And he takes a yard Max?” He would answer “No, and he thinks he is a ruler.” Donald James Yarmy, I’ll miss you pal.
