Sept. 25, 2005 The high-pitched screeching, the sunglasses, the perpetual whining, the constant belittling of Aruban authorities, the first name familiarity with news personalities -- it can only be Beth Holloway Twitty. Two monster hurricanes can't blow away Mrs. Twitty from the airwaves, she's like the Energizer Bunny from hell -- you can't get rid of her. This woman feels it is her God-given right to plant herself in front of the TV cameras, even though her publicity-loving behavior is impeding, not helping to solve the mystery of her daughter's disappearance. We all suffer personal tragedies, but very few of us consider it our divine right to hijack the cable news outlets and share our grief with an international audience. Twitty isn't a forensic specialist, a private investigator, a lawyer or a journalist, her presence in Aruba wasn't necessary. Isn't she a Christian, why didn't she just stay at home, let the very capable Aruban authorities do their jobs and pray for the return of Natalee Holloway? Yeah, she is a grieving mother, but that doesn't give her carte blanche to be the "guest from hell who just won't leave." Beth, we know your daughter is missing, at one time we sympathized with your situation, but enough is enough!! One more Oprah appearance, one more interview with Larry King, one more chat with Greta van Susteren, one more photo op with Geraldo Rivera, one more sob session with Dr. Phil, will accomplish absolutely nothing as far as finding your daughter. The disappearance of any individual is a personal tragedy, but the fate of the free world does not depend on whether or not we find Natalee Holloway. The media is only using your daughter to sell beer, cars and toilet paper. Please respect the memory of Natalee Holloway, and disappear from the spotlight for a little while. ------------ About the author: Robert Paul Reyes has written over 200 articles for Useless-Knowledge.com.
