Sept. 15, 2005 Hello. Humboldt State University is now in its third week of classes. I've visited with five professors of psychology and suggested to them that they might help me conduct experiments to determine what if anything is being changed as a student gazes blankly at various objects including myself. The idea is that when some persons gaze at me they sense what Swami Rudrananda called "yogic force." I also sense this "yogic force" when I gaze at certain objects in the natural world. The experiment will monitor myself and other persons during a similar gazing exercise. Unfortunately, the professors I talked with weren't interested in my proposal. One professor told me that graduate students tend to avoid "cutting edge" projects, and he said my research is "cutting edge." I also was told that only two psychology professors are authorized to use medical equipment, and such equipment is required to measure certain parameters Consequently I'm blocked in this effort unless I can find an authorized researcher who wants to help me. Whether I find collaborators on this project, I will continue writing about the "yogic force" and I will continue to encourage people to study "yogic force." After writing several articles emphasizing what Swami Rudrananda called "yogic force," I received letters from cynical, naysayer skeptics demanding that I "put up or shut up" and get some scientific testing done and prove "yogic force" is real. Well, honestly, I am trying to do put up! I already believe that "yogic force" is real, but I don't know exactly what "yogic force" IS. "Yogic force" might not be a force at all, in the sense that physicists use the word "force." However I am determined to promote "yogic force" for the same reason that Swami Khecaranatha is determined to promote "yogic force." Here is a quote: "Swami Khecaranatha (born Steven Ott) began practicing Kundalini Yoga under Swami Rudrananda (Rudi) in 1971. Rudi recognized him as a teacher within this lineage in 1972. Khecaranatha lived in an ashram for 30 years, and has traveled to India, Nepal, & Asia, spending extended time in meditation and spiritual practice. At the same time he is very accessible, and understands the pressures of living in the world. He has dedicated his life to spiritual development and to serving others in their spiritual quest." "Yogic force" is felt by a student while gazing into the eyes of the teacher. During this extended eye contact the aura of the student and the aura of the teacher become connected and the energies mix. The student feels an uplift and a mystical experience is induced in the student. During this experience colors appear much brighter and in perception and feeling the student and the teacher seem to become conjoined. Some persons are opposed to scientific experimentation on or with what they consider to be sacred. Avoiding careful study is the one SURE way to block progress in understanding and mastering this subject which has remained a total MYSTERY for many THOUSANDS of years. Science has come on the human scene and THIS SUBJECT needs to be studied by competent scientists. I will continue trying to interest local people in this research. I will report again on my progress in interesting students and professors in a study of "yogic force." ------------ About the author: John L.
