Sept. 13, 2005 Above and beyond the intelligence of quick thinking debaters who argue more or less convincingly, there is the divine intelligence of the body in harmonious union with the mind. In this union, one's practice is one's preachment. One works and demonstrates union without thinking before acting. That is, one's art is one's speech. This art is a blessing, not a provocation. This divine art is created in a state of union in which mind + emotions + body are united with all beings in com + passion. This com + passion is felt by all yogis, tai chi practitioners, and all other moving meditators whose movement isn't planned in advance. This is prayer in living and living in prayer. Integration of mind and body enables the attuned person to work without a conscious plan so that the attuned person plays music without learning the music before hand or without reading the music from a score. The attuned person produces art in the same way. Even writing comes by working the drawing instrument without conscious effort. The divine text writes itself. The divine text explains this sense of union in each com + passionate person. The words you read are like the art you see and the music you hear. You are the consumer of all this material. The com + passionate one is the one who produces this material. The only problem is your feeling this same union or prayerful state. Until you feel IT and enjoy IT and use IT, poetically speaking you are a rookie just sitting and watching a skier cutting up the slalom slopes, but you can't feel the cutting movement in your own bones. To feel the cutting movement, you have to be skiing up there on the slalom slopes. If you don't understand com + passion on your own, then you need to go study under a master. Don't just deny or dismiss THAT which you don't understand, especially when IT brings comfort and joy to so many persons! ------------ About the author: John L.
