Sept. 12, 2005 The Golden Rule goes like this: "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." What's wrong with that? Plenty. Modern humanity needs to do better. Here's an example of the Golden Rule gone awry: Jimmie's girlfriend Jane works forty hours carefully writing out the words and music to twenty folksongs for Jimmie's little brother to play and sing. When the boy responds with delight by composing twenty new tunes in an hour, Jane becomes enraged. Rather than rejoice at the boy's special talent, the girl blows her stack. She insists that the boy was disrespectful to her by ignoring her notation and composing new tunes. She is angry because she worked so hard carefully writing down the notes to the old tunes. Instead of being angry, however, she might have been happy because HER gift moved the boy to reciprocate by showing HIS gift. The problem with The Golden Rule is that it is way Way WAY too simplistic. Talents differ a great deal. Some people simply can't learn to read music, or at least it's a thousand times easier for them to compose new tunes than read old ones. The Golden Rule simply doesn't take human diversity into account. Neither does The Golden Rule teach empathy. Rather than spend years listening to and reading sermons about The Golden Rule, and the ancient prophets of God who talked about The Golden Rule as though it were the very Cornerstone, children might grow up learning about diversity and empathy and practicing empathy and celebrating diversity. Then a lot more hidden talents can come out and be expressed without fear. In that more advanced society more people can be happier every day. The Golden rule is an ancient idea. When it comes to God and the prophets of God, however, modern science has proven 100% that God is real and that God is sensed directly by the brain, and when God is sensed, anxiety is reduced and euphoria is felt. Furthermore, when anxiety is eliminated and joy is felt, a person's hidden talent is freer to appear. Timidity and anxiety put a great damper on talent. Now if medical science has established that God exists in the brain in the form of neural centers which can be stimulated and developed, then how can young people learn to develop these centers and function better than would otherwise be possible? In other words, you already know for sure that certain persons (for example Saint Paul, Saint Francis, and Mother Theresa) have done extraordinary things under the influence of God. The next question is what can YOUR child do that is by God, of God, and for God? And what can YOU do? For a person who seems unable to perform (for example learn to read music and entertain people by playing an instrument and singing songs), this question might not seem ridiculous at all. In this modern age of tension and anxiety, some human talents remain hidden for a lifetime. Chronic unemployment often results when a talented person's talent is never discovered and developed. Check out Matthew Alper. Mathew Alper has created a modern scientific book entitled "The God part of the Brain." and Mr. Alper has many commendatory letters on file. Apparently professional science has PROVED the existence of God in the brain, and so it's realistic to suggest that manic persons and/or schizophrenic persons who say to people "I am God" are not totally demoralized and/or delusional at all. Instead, after years of being taught to use certain other parts of the brain, the God part rather suddenly becomes active. The talent in the newfound "crazy" person may never have been expressed before. No one knows what is best to do for the manic person or the schizophrenic person. Well, there's just a lot more research to do, but as a medical scientist you won't make much progress just by pumping antipsychotic medications down the gullet of the God person year after year after year after year bid, tid, or qid. This is why I say The Golden Rule is out of date. There are special talents lying dormant in many children, and modern education makes no provision for them. Modern medical science fails them as well. Now that God has been discovered in every human brain, science-based society can move ahead after being blocked for thousands of years. People can become MASTERS of God. That is, people can be MASTERS of their own brains. ------------ About the author: John L.
