Oct. 30, 2005 I came to UK not as a great writer, but feeling it was a place to express ourselves. There are those that give their opinions on Religion, Politics and everyday happenings. They do this without the harm to another writers opinions and beliefs. I agree with some and very much disagree with others, but I express my reply to them in Mail and/or here in UK. I do this with my thoughts of their writings, not to them personally. I am never critical of a person for their beliefs and writings, for they have this right under the rules of Uk and the constitution. Attacks on the person is saying that we are better than them and we are the only ones that should be allowed to write what we wish. We are saying that we have the right to tell others what they can and cannot write. We have the right to choose the subjects they write about. Is this the intention of UK?. Not at all. UK is a fair and balanced avenue for all writer and all subjects. I feel Ron Lewis has overstepped the bounds of a persons rights with the blatant attack on Meri Ulrich. He is assuming the position of a reviewer who will decide what a person can write. I have read many of his articles and have liked some and not liked some, but never have I told him what he can or cannot write and I have never attacked him personally. (About the author: Ron Lewis is a software salesman extraordinaire, albeit habitually unemployed, with no significant accomplishments at age 47 other than two wonderfully talented children who take after their mother. All his friends note his keen insight, bad eyesight, doggedly jaded disposition, and rugged bad looks. A third person seems to recall that he talks too much.) I have spent many hours now digesting this and have come to the final result that I no longer care to post articles in UK. I don't agree with all that Meri writes in total, but certainly feel she does her homework before coming to school.
