Oct. 29, 2005 Having traversed the various terrains of offline and online writing, having braved many dangers toils and snares -dangers of being a misunderstood, uncomprehended, intellectually gifted young black writer set at any moment to make a stab for the Nobel for /in literary 'faissez'......the toils of trying toexplain to and educate the ignorant minds of many at times a plenty and many at times a few 'one track' minded individuals who still hold on to archaic beliefs that some men are more equal than others [that is of course without having read back to back 'Animal Farm'....]…the snares of many 'who' in the literary genre who figure the fastest way to a quick buck and a book deal is to pick on [in]sensitive topics and materials with a slim chance of ever reaching that pinnacle-which...where some of us are by mere flick of the stylus...... Yes, I must reaffirm that writers are BORN, NOT MADE! And so am in the process of drawing up a proposal to submit to the editor on this here Uselessknowledgemag to create an alternative Uselessknowledgemag- maybe call it ‘…….Geezermag.com ‘or .....’Hasbeen.com’ or’….Won’tbe.com’, just anything to give a sense of belonging in this extreme world of mental exercise where dinosaurs have to go the way of all dinosaurs….EX!!! But then I don’t mean to disparage the many Uselessknowledgers who work hard at writing a good read devoid of incitement ,I mean they write real good ‘soul food’, if you know what I mean.. .hey props to yuz all …much luv, much luv –but you see like Will Smith [ he was a sage ….] once said [in Bad Boys…],”don’t hate the player…hate da game” If you’re not up to it ,you’re not up to it- PERIOD! YOU see [again ]’peops’ like me here just can’t help being prolific ,just can’t help but BE prolific…I mean ‘I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee’[….he too was misunderstood ] –to try to imitate me would be to ‘bumble like a bumble bee and stink like a skunk…!!’ I mean it’s‘ scribendi’..once that itch got you, you cant stop. There may be comparisons ,there may be close shots but there can’t be two genuine articles and so there is only ONE ‘Nightwatch’, ONE ‘Primevera’…..ONE ‘Mona L.’..and so on and so on …. But then in the interim, we shall continue to tolerate the ‘thems’ because hey it’s a free world out there. Finally to buttress home this point even a wee bit –take a good look around ..look at the ‘freak’ Eminem …listening to that misfit gone right through black rap music you’d sooner think his ancestors sang funky duets on them funky plantations and since we’re that close to plantations-take a look at an equally freaky Charly Pride[‘….roll on Mississippi, deep river roll…’ ]even the hunk M.Bolton [no not the government Bolton]…,hang on if music don’t suit your fancy..look at Michael Jordan…I mean he re-invented basketball, hey look at Larry Bird-even though he’s white [……now did I just say that ?] I could go on and on but hey folks I gotta work on that proposal ……. ------------ Email Stephen Lonewolf Makama: lonewolfmak@yahoo.com Tell a friend about this site! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com.
