Oct. 29, 2005 Frequently, the dating game sucks swampwater. Today started out as no exception. I had made arrangements to go on a Geocaching hiking adventure with a retired soldier. He didn't call or show up. I felt devastated. I don't like to admit how frequently being stood up by a potential date happens to me. Did my date found a more sensual encounter on the webcam? It is possible that his neighbor's goldfish died. He needed to console the neighbor. I should have never offered to compromise the retired soldier's virtue. Maybe I should have assured him that I never compromise a gentleman' s virtue without his permission. I scared the poor man away. It is dubious that a conservative military man and a freespirted astrologer can be a love connection. Still, we share a mutual love of nature. A hiking buddy with benefits would have been a good thing. I usually fit the Libra stereotype when it comes to rejection. Screaming psychodramas, recriminations and tearjerking, obsessive songs are the norm. This time I am doing something different. I am changing my attitude. I am done with crying over dates that don't show up. I am committing myself to enjoying every date that I make regardless of rather the gentleman shows up or not. I seldom take my dog on my dates with me. Nevertheless, Ferlin is an excellent hiking buddy. He is a husky/hound mix who understands the concept of loyalty. Today, I went on my hiking rendezvous without my date. .. Ferlin was delighted. We shared a picnic by the river. I even brought a candle. I really have to thank the gentleman for introducing me to Geocaching. It is a sport where others set up caches in various places and share the locations of these caches on the Internet. A GPS locator is to determine location coordinates to find the caches. I didn't have the gentleman's GPS unit to utilize but I did go in search of a cache anyway. I used horary astrology to find it. This is my personal added dimension to the sport. I gathered willow and chicory flowers to the dreamcatchers that I made for two caches that I will hide. I picked up several small river pebbles for runes that I created for a friend.. Ferlin and I spent the day communing with Mother Nature. Next week, I will go to Wal-Mart and put a GPS unit on lay-away. I will continue to go on Geocaching dates with the gentleman regardless of rather he is there or not. He will continue to be my hiking buddy with benefits. I am not sure where I can find the battery operated device for the benefits. Perhaps I can find it on the Amazon Book Site. ------------ About the author: Bonijean Isaacs is a freelance writer and Astrologer in West Virginia.
