What I Would Do With Cindy Sheehan

By Meri Ulrich
Oct. 27, 2005

Cindy Sheehan is planning on typing herself to the fence surrounding the White House so that she will be arrested and thus, draw more attention to her cause. That's all well and good but I think that Cindy has lost her message and no longer represents the people in this country who oppose the war in Iraq.

She is a foul-mouthed woman who has made some outrageous statements and If I were the Democratic Leadership I would NOT want my party associated with the likes of Ms. Sheehan. She is no longer a voice of reason.

I sympathize with her loss as I do with all of the families who have lost loved ones as a result of ANY war but she has gone so far afield of her original message that she is an embarrassment in my opinion.

I would NOT arrest Ms. Sheehan. I would do what they did when the Mother Duck laid her eggs outside of the White House gates. I would erect a little fenced in area and leave her there until she was finished with her business. When she gets hungry or thirsty or needs to change her clothes she will eventually have to come out. Winter is fast approaching the DC area and no one in their right mind would stand out there during a winter freeze.

Leave Ms. Sheehan alone and let her stand tied to that fence for as long as it takes and DO NOT give her what she obviously has come to crave.

This woman is no longer on the right path and she will not help anyone bring our troops back home. She angers people because her words are ridiculous and her targets are often on the same side of the issue that she is supposedly on.

I don't care for Hillary Clinton and I know that she, along with most others in the Congress voted for the war, but to lump her in with the President and scream and holler that she, Cindy, will NOT support Hillary in her bid for re-election is ludicrous and proves that the woman is no longer trying to avenge her dead son. She is now an attention junkie and I think that we should allow her to stand there and get all the attention that she craves...through snow, sleet and rain. The woman is no longer playing with a full deck...if she ever was in the first place.
