Oct. 26, 2005 To quote Nicholas Olson, Re: his article titled "Bush forgot the "S" in Rosa Parks." The sad fact is that true leaders, those that were born for it, either never come forward out of pride or cannot tolerate the ugly side of politics long enough to reach the levels of Congress or the presidency". I will have to disagree with that assumption. I think there have been these very people Mr. Olson speaks of that have entered the thrones of the Senate and Congress. The fact is they change into these Political cronies after being infected by those with whom they serve. I have voted equally for Republicans and Democrats. I vote for whom I think is the best person of the only ones we have to choose from. However, it is hard for me to think Our present leader is so dumb as Mr Olson states, after all he was elected twice. I do not judge a person by his or her geographical heritage. We all have different speech patterns and accents, mine being southern with a little cajun mixed in. I certainly don't consider myself a hick or uneducated person. For me personally, I could not vote for Kerry because I did not want his wife as a first Lady. Her comments and actions during the primaries did not suit me as to how a First Lady should act. Her being able to speak three or four languages was not a qualification to be a First Lady. I speak French, German, Spanish and my wife says I could brush up on proper English. This in no way qualified me for anything special, only perhaps an opportunity for a job placement. Politics aside, I feel Laura Bush is a Lady of Class. My biggest dislikes of American structure is the Federal Judges and Supreme Court Justices appointed for life. The fact that a minority of people and groups are the ones making the laws for the majority with the blessings of the Life appointed Judges. We hear that Blacks, Asians, Hispanics and other races are the minority. WRONG, the majority of all citizens of the USA are the minority. The roles have switched. The Majority has no representation. I am not an Evangelist nor am I a religious radical, but I do believe when the Judges and Courts decided "In God we do NOT trust", the morality and quality of life that us older citizens grew up with, exists no more. I am glad to be a Senior citizen knowing I will not have to face a lifetime of todays America. I have travelled extensively in my career and I can tell you, that with all of this, America is still the greatest country on the globe.
