Oct. 26, 2005 I watched two shows tonight that basically all said the same thing. The tapes of Deepak speaking about Natalee Holloway have arrived on Aruba, have been listened to by the police and the prosecutor and they have found some glitches regarding the wording of certain questions and the answers that were given. They have sent the tapes to Holland but the way is already paved for the tapes to be dismissed. I could feel it in my bones and I could read between the lines. Either way, they can't re-arrest the suspects based on the fact that they lied. They can re-question Deepak but that's about it. When asked how the Prosecutor responded to hearing the tapes Dompig replied, "She was stunned". Stunned? Has the woman been on another planet for the past month? Everyone knows about those tapes except for the prosecutor on Aruba? Stunned? What a strange reaction to such public information. Maybe she doesn't own a television set. Maybe she was also part of the cover-up created by the original police chief? Maybe she was on another extended vacation (something she does much better than investigating apparently). Now for Condi's role in all of this. Apparently Condi Rice made a call to Aruba some time ago and spoke to the Prime Minister. After that call the original police chief was removed from his post and replaced. Rita Cosby had a guest attorney on her show who made some outrageous statements which proved that she knew ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Aruban law. She claimed that NOW they can arrest the boys and NOW the US government can put some kind of sanctions on Aruba. Is she for real? Why would the USA put their relationship with Holland in jeopardy because of a missing person. A CIVILIAN missing person? When a government places sanctions on another country it usually means that they get something major in return or are making a point about something important to the welfare of the country. As much as Natalee is important and as much as this case should be solved I'm afraid that Natalee doesn't qualify as a food for oil scandal or a weapons of mass destruction issue. Sanctions? I don't think so. The Bush White House has enough problems right now without putting sanctions on Holland or even Aruba because of one missing person. There may be an idea that would help save the case or at least get it going in the right direction. What if Holland is asked to investigate Vander Stratton and possibly the prosecutor? What if they sent those two people to fill those positions on Aruba and there are charges that things were covered up to protect a Dutch citizen? Wouldn't that make it Holland's business? Wouldn't they want to make sure that their appointees who represent them on Aruba are straight shooters? If it were discovered that there was a cover-up and charges could be filed than I believe that those who conspired would talk to save their own skin. If they talked than maybe we would know what was covered up, where it went, who it was concerning and why. Maybe there would be relevant information that would come forth as to what statements were altered and why. What phone calls did Paulus van der Sloot make the night that Natalee disappeared? Why didn't the uniformed policemen report what Joran said in front of other witnesses? Did they report it and was the statement destroyed. The big WHY might lead to some answers because IF he covered up things to protect Paulus and Joran than the reason for doing that might come out along the way. It might even lead to a conclusion in this case. It's time to stop waiting for laws that don't exist on Aruba (the charging of suspects based on sex, lies and videotape), and start investigating those who KNOW the answers. Not just the silent suspects but the authorities who owe it to Natalee, her family and their own citizens to conduct a clean case and to tell the truth. Aren't all of the above entitled to know the truth? Maybe Condi can get them to investigate their own people without making us look like total idiots in the process. Can you imagine a huge giant like America putting economic sanctions on tiny Aruba? That's just what we need. Aren't we already accused of being a bully nation? Isn't there enough bad blood toward us all over the world already? Take this investigation to it's source..that first week when Natalee went missing. Find out what really happened with the investigation and maybe answers will be forthcoming. At least it's something. Right now there is nothing and the handwriting is on the wall regarding Deepak's tape. It isn't going to do one bit of good and if I see or hear one more sound bite that states, "A BREAK THROUGH IN THE NATALEE HOLLOWAY CASE" that goes nowhere I will scream. Stop the fake news items and the ratings grabbers and start to REALLY investigate. Remember when there was real investigative reporting? What happened to that? Why aren't Rita or Greta or one of their counter-parts having their many sources investigate this cover-up? Someone has to. ------------ About the author: Meri has a Medical/Legal background and is a former forensic researcher specializing in psychological profiling. https://www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/bookdisplay.asp?bookid=27335 Email: writers2@cox.net Tell a friend about this site! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com.
