Oct. 7, 2005 Living in the South for about two years now it disturbs me to see that the war between the North and the South has never ended. I've asked many southern what there nationality is and mostly all responded with "We are Southern." I would say" No, I mean what are your roots or ancestry?" Again they would say "Southern." I am a cracker through and through. I was born and raised in the North where all men are indeed created equal. In the South there still is the black and white issue but not as prevalent as it was in the past. Laws stop that from happening. In my opinion they are mad that the slaves were ever freed. I'm not a very smart man but I try. When you see a poor white man having a poor black man doing his landscaping for him then you have to chock it up to upbringing. I guess there isn't enough Indians around to do the dirty work but never fear the Blacks are moving up on the ladder leaving an opening for the Mexicans. I think that the late great president, Abraham Lincoln had another kind of freedom in mind. I think that he would and probably is rolling over in his grave as we speak. The Blackman was freed back in the day but take a step back for a moment and open your eyes. Every city in this great country that actually has Blacks in them has a section set aside for the Blacks. Some call is "Projects and other may call them" The Black section but lets be honest with each other. Before there so called freedoms they were held on Plantations and now in sections. Is there a difference? Oh yes, some breakout and learn all they can moving up the ranks but this doesn't mean anything when you have idiots trying there best to keep the race down no matter how much money they make. You lost the war and where I come from we lay down our flag and admit defeat. I still see the Southern flags waving here proudly and for the men that lost there lives in that war I prey for them Yes my friends the K.K.K. is alive and well in the South but those boys in the hood really look ridicules to me. I am happy to see that the younger generation in the South mixing and matching up. I see it all over and it makes me feel at home. If we keep this up then in about a thousand years we would all be the same color. Then and only then will we all be really free. God Bless America where all men are not created equal but maybe someday, maybe some day. ------------ About the author: Bob D Caterino is a writer that we all either hate or love.
