Final Fantasy II (IV) Coming To A GBA Screen Near You

By Judy Ramsook
Oct. 1, 2005

In the early nineties when I first played Final Fantasy II on the SNES, I was immediately drawn in to the game with it’s sixteen bit graphics, at the time, the game’s story line, cast of characters or heroes and addictive gameplay.

For if one were to reflect on the graphics then compared to the graphics on such advanced present day systems such as the Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo DS and even the gameboy advance, you would observe how far indeed the video game industry has come and if you like playing RPGs, this Final Fantasy II was one of those games you just wanted to play.

From the game’s opening scene to the final battle, it left you, the eager video game player yearning for more, and we got more games in the series as time progressed. But after playing the Final Fantasy II game in the 90s, life became a bit hectic and my game cartridge was misplaced. Now Nintendo has announced that it will be releasing another version of the game for the small screen of the gameboy advance.

But it will have a slightly different title from the one in the early 90s. Due to be released on December 12th later this year, it will be titled Final Fantasy IV. And since this will be a newer version of one of the games you could not put down in the early 90s, it will also contain new features.

It will have new areas to explore, and new characters who will have different skills. In addition, the game’s portability factor also makes it easier for you to play it even when you are not at home.

You can take it with you on those road trips, especially if you are not the one doing the driving, and it might even make a pleasant gift for that rpg video game player on your gift list.

Personally, I will get an opportunity to play a fourteen year old game in a whole new way, on the gameboy advance system, and this time I will try not to misplace the game cartridge.
