Oct. 1, 2005 America is, for all intents and purposes, a secular nation, we don't kneel in awe of the Almighty and we don't venerate the saints. But we have substituted worship of the saints for veneration of Missing White Women. Laci Peterson, Elizabeth Smart and Natalee Holloway are transformed from regular human beings prone to foibles and mistakes to secular saints. Natalee Holloway's behavior in sun-splashed Aruba would have made great footage for a "Girls Gone Wild" video, but once she disappeared she became a virgin. Beth Holloway Twitty has become the "Patron Saint of Missing White Women", and as such she is beyond reproach. Hurricane Beth is on a jihad of vindictiveness, confronting Deepak at his place of employment, harassing the van der Sloot's at their residence, and now she plans to go to the Netherlands to harass Joran. The mainstream media may give Beth Holloway Twitty a free pass to intimidate and bully three innocent young men, but I think her deportment is atrocious. Natalee's father, Dave Holloway, has acted with quiet dignity, you don't see him engaging in histrionics before the cameras. Joran has also demonstrated courage and integrity in the face of Beth's scurrilous accusations.
