Are Some Of Us Just Too Fussy?

By Judy Ramsook
Nov. 29, 2005

Human nature is one of the most fascinating aspects of our world, and if one examines it long and closely enough, he or she will observe that in spite of nationality, race or ethnic origin, there is one trait that binds us. What is that? We all have somrthing or another to complain about.

And although some people are more fussy than others, there are things that annoy the purest of people. It could be anything ranging from resting a cup or glass on a table without first taking the time to utilise a saucer or coaster for that purpose or a heterosexual couple showing their affection for each other in public.

Then there are some who still frown upon cohabitation, and sexual preferences aside, sometimes it does not matter who is involved in the cohabiting. Some people just don’t like it and will complain about the matter to whomever is willing to listen.

It is almost as if those individuals who are fussing about such things expect those who are inadvertently offending them to cease their actions for their benefit. And what if by some miraculous change of events say, the world is some how rid of all its so called sinners, will the complainants be happy?

Or will some of them feel the need to still look for something to complain about. And although there are some persons in our midst who will, no matter how conservative some parts of the world become, remember we are all here to live among each other.

And when some one goes out of his or her way to make another fellow human unhappy by doing a simple thing such as complaining about something that may be so insignificant that it cannot be noticed by another, is when the one doing the complaining might also be making him or herself a little unhappy as well.

If there is something one can control by making a complaint or two such as using it to discipline one’s children or make sure things are fine on the home front , good, but if one spends most of his or her time complaining about every little thing that bothers him or her, can one imagine what that person doing the complaining could accomplish if he or she were to focus some of that energy into something more productive like a hobby or project.? The end result might be astounding.
