Nov. 21, 2005 We see it on the local or national news everyday, or we read about in on the internet or in the daily newspaper, what is that you say? Some one who has hurt somebody, be it an act of domestic violence, the incident brought about by the school yard bully or a random act. Why are people inadvertently or deliberately hurting each other? Could it be that the persons doing the hurting are the ones who are also hurt? Now there are a few exceptions, for although not everyone among us has had the perfect life or childhood, there are quite a few parents who have tried their best to show their kids how much they care for them. And some of those kids turned out all right. But what happens when some one knows for certain that he or she is not cared for by anyone in the family circle? He or she might start feeling as if the world is against him or her, and lash out as a result. And sometimes some of those acts can hurt people who are not even familiar with the ones who are lashing out at the world. But if some one were to display a caring attitude towards those who feel as if no one cares about them or their well being, something might happen. Something that could bring about a positive change in some of those persons who are feeling a little deprived of being cared for. So as another holiday season is about to begin, make a change in a loved one’s life; show him or her that you care. The end result will astound you. For only we can stop the pain that dwells deep within, a pain that can gradually be eroded with a little show of concern or an act of love. And although there are external forces that are also responsible for some people’s unhappiness such as the state of the economy, one’s job situation or lack there of, medical concerns or conditions that can leave one with a consecutive number of bad days, and so on, a little show of concern can still go a long way. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
