Nov. 16, 2005 Although, West Virginia is predominately Democrat, the people are conservative by Nature. The job market sucks swamp water. The State has an abundance of minimal wage jobs from hell. Most workers don't have health insurance. West Virginia would do well to take the lessons of the Republicans and support business. Businesses are regulated to the point that they don't want to deal with West Virginia. Young people have to leave the state to find work. Poverty and welfare Communities prevail. Instead what the State Officials do is legislate the moral conduct of others. Two locals cops lost their jobs, when one of the cops dated a dancer from the neighborhood gentleman's club and the other cop opted to film the activities of that date. The conservative city officials (Republican or otherwise) watched the film as a group at a public meeting. The concerned citizens at the meeting got to hear the song "Bad Boy" from the TV Police Show and see the faces of the city officials watching the film. It was an amusing sight to observe. When it comes to choosing to be a Republican or a Democrat; I choose neither of them. I vote on the issues rather than the party. I came close to voting for the "Shrub" when he declined to comment about cocaine use in his youth. I could respect the man for not playing into the "I didn't inhale" nonsense. Afterwards, he was asked about military pagans. Should they have a right to have worship services on the base. "No, they are not a religion," he answered. He lost my vote. I don't want my government defining and dictating what my spiritual path should be. I first registered as a Libertarian because they were something other than Republicans or Democrats. I was convinced there is not a dime's difference between the two parties. It turns out that Libertarian is the right party for me. Libertarians believe that folks the right to live life as they wish, without government interference. -- as long as they don't violate the rights of others. Libertarians don't believe that laws should stifle business and control people's personal choices. Libertarians are neither liberals or conservatives. Libertarians agree with conservatives about freedom in economic matters. Let promote business and get rid of over regulation of business. If the rich get richer, the poor will get richer too. Libertarians also agree with liberals on personal tolerance, so we're in favor of people's right to choose their own personal habits and lifestyles. Unlike the conservatives, Libertarians don't feel a need to regulate and oversee morality. There is no need to punish folks for drug use or ban homosexual marriages. . I don't know why I seem to attract Conservative men. Maybe they feels they needs to have a little bit of fun before they married a proper Conservative Woman. I have always had fantasies about going to a Republican Men's Convention and charming them right out of their pinstriped boxer shorts. The Republican men are standing around in their underwear with the sound of "dit dit dit dittooooo!" chanting in their minds. In my fantasy, a tattooed biker man's man donning blue jeans and black leather roars into the convention on a Harley. I climb on the Harley and we ride into to sunset.
