Nov. 6, 2005 Most people do what they have to do. The writer does as well as the cop, the lawyer and what ever line you are into. The reasons they do what they do shouldn't be because they have to but because they love what they are doing. People who write do it because they love it not because they are trying to make money or persuade someone to their way of thinking. Artists do the craft to create and when they step back and see the end result they are satisfied. The icing on the cake is when others also love what you have done. When you take your craft and start criticizing others with it then you strayed off the beaten path. The love is gone from the equation and you have just another job. I as well as many others love writing. My style might be rough but I do this on purpose. I write the same way that others may talk and think. I think frilling it up or using five dollar words are a waist of the audience's time. Others may write "The gunman raised his trusty side arm and with one eye closed and the other on the site he sweats as he pulls the rusty trigger. His hand trembles as the bullet hits his target killing the man he once trusted." I would say, "He shoots he scores." I love what I do. Some of my critics may say things or remember the period I missed but hey, I couldn't care less. This is useless knowledge mag and although I like it here I only proof read what I put on the market. If you over look the small stuff the big picture, what I am trying to do usually hits its target. I sell books on line and that's all. I write for myself and if anyone likes what I do so be it. I shot I scored. I send feedback to the articles I read on useless knowledge. I don't tare anyone apart I look at what they are trying to do. If I can see the big picture then they have done well. I am saying all of this for a reason. I may or may not have the time to write for this site in the weeks to come. In one day I found out that my mother has cancer, my dog whom I have had for fourteen years is dying and well my cup runnith over. I will be heading for Jersey to be by her side and try to find some care for the dog. We, here should stay focused. We should be writing about life and the things happening around us not bickering with each other. Maybe, just maybe is we stayed on track here this sight will be taken seriously. I am not sure but kicking off some of the writers is not news worthy. Talking about the issues is. I am proud to announce that my book, e-book "Growing up Goomba" has hit the ten thousand mark. Many of you have not read it I am sure. This is ok. It deals with life's issues in a funny way. It is about the mob but not because they are feared but because they have now become clowns. I expose people for what they are. On the other hand is someone tries hard they deserve all the credit in the world. So with that shameless plug I bid you all a fond few weeks off. I consider all of you colleagues and hope you all well. Stay focused and do what you love doing. When the critics tell you, you are no good then just keep on keeping on. You are doing it, they are reading what you do and wish they could. Those who can't teach, and those who can't teach, teach gym.
