Nov. 30, 2004 Lets face it, people are animals. We eat, need shelter, to reproduce and need to go to the bathroom, just like every other animal on this planet. People need to think we are above the animals because of written dogma of the many religions. According to the main stream religion of the western world, people were even created in the image of god. But we were created with animal needs. We are not gods. God did not give us the abilities to be above the animals. Like our mammal counterparts in the animal world human males want more than one woman. The seals, sea lions, lions, monkeys, apes, etc. all have a male leader and he takes as many health females for the sake of reproducing the most and strongest offspring. This is the same for the human male. Just because culture prevents him from fighting and forming huge harems of females, he still goes out and tries to get in the pants of as many women as he can before he marries. Lets not forget the human female population. Women also want genetic diversity but women know that for the first few years after a child is born she will need help financially supporting the child. It is to her benifit to be in a married situation because it makes sure she will have the males resources for the child. This is why when she has a child outside of marriage, the society has legislated that the man who fathered the child has a fiscal responsibility to the child. But women will go out and try to have sexual freedom to get genetic diversity too, its just not to her childrens benefit. Our brains make us smarter than animals but humans have not gotten past basic instincts. War is another animal thing humans participate in. Other animals are known to kill a rival male for the ability to have more females. Also war is the ability to kill off the offspring of those males. An example of this is the lion population will kill if needed a rival male then kill that males children. Plus war has the purpose of getting rid of rival males of our own country. The more males killed the less competition for males to get women. It is a benefit to not have competition because it makes sure the male can have more than one woman. Humans simply are a more complex animals. We have not risen above those basic needs: eating, need for shelter, reproducing and going to the bathroom. People use the religions of the world to preach that we are above animals, but what religious people really do is tell others do as I say not as I do. ------------ About the author: Being a full time writer is the hardest job that I have tried.
