Nov. 27, 2004 It’s difficult, what I find illogical others find normal. Illogical thinking has no boundaries it ranges from accepting the most bazaar to rejecting the most obvious. How can we set a standard? Who will set the standards or are we destined to go through life not knowing for sure what is and what isn’t logical. Is this to be just one more roadblock in the path too peace and harmony? My liberal friends keep telling me wars are illogical they never solve anything. Of course my position is wars are the only logical way to deal with terror and despots. When despicable people hold the winning hand they have no incentive to negotiate. Only in defeat will the offenders capitulate. I find it illogical when I hear my liberal friends say they support out troops but don’t support their mission, to me that’s an oxymoron. The logical conclusion is they support neither the troops nor the mission but simply choose to be politically correct. There are a hundred plus groups claiming to be the peace-police with one goal in mind, just sitting down and logically discussing issues with our dissenters, only then will everything be resolved. It hasn’t worked up to now and no reason to believe it will. I’ve been told we have progressed from barbaric times in history. Now tell the Al Qaida. I guess it’s logical to assume if all Caucasians left the Middle East and Africa the Muslim fanatics would no longer behead them. It’s also logical to assume they would then behead their Muslims brothers and sisters This Al Qaida, Islamic fundamentalism is neither a nation nor a tribe; they’re a brotherhood of destructionists and murderers. Is it logical to assume liberals are willing to accept this mayhem as a lifestyle in order to live in a presumed peace for the next thousand years? Liberals tell us what miserable condition the country is in. Personally I don’t believe it and I have been around a lot longer than most who are saying it. If it were true wouldn’t it be logical to think it was the Congress and not the President who created these miserable conditions we’re forced to endure? After all Congress has more power over domestic issues than presidents. I suggested in jest to one of my liberal friends if they were so disenchanted with life under George Bush they should move to Cuba until Hillary takes over. This person actually began to describe the beauties of peaceful tranquil life in Cuba. My logical mind tells me they are just putting me on to get a reaction. Then I read something they write making the same stupid statements and I realize they actually believe the things they say. Presidents don’t posses the powers of dictators like Osama bin Laden, Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein or that of the divine laws of God. President Bush is the Captain of the Ship of State. A ship with thousands of sails and a million oarsman. No one mortal can possibly manage every detail nor should they be expected to. Among those thousands of sails are Congressman Teddy Kennedy, John Kerry, John Edwards, Nancy Pelosi and others. Where is their accountability for the nation’s ills? Americans enjoy the most prosperous society in the world. Our freedoms far surpass any others. The Liberal Democrats lost this past election because they spread doom and gloom. When the voters looked around to see who these people who were without the means of survival they weren’t to be found. The voters realizing who created this new found prosperity and who was guaranteeing their security then chose Republicans in all departments of government. Logic would dictate Liberal Democrats see the light and reform. Some have many haven’t and wont. How many more elections will it take for liberalism to be set off into the sunset never to return? ------------ Follow the Wit and Wisdom of Uncle Ken.
