Nov. 26, 2004 Good luck today competing with the many people running into store doors just to have a chance to spend their hard earned money. I have noticed over the past few decades that the stores have brain washed customers into thinking that the friday after Thanksgiving is the best day to christmas shop, well in my opinion anyone who buys that is just a Disney Lemming. Walt Disney in the 1950's made many documentaries about wild life. He made many movies about different animals and one of them was the Lemming. In that documentary every seven years, for no apparent reason, many Lemmings jump to their deaths because the other Lemmings do. As everybody should know, the story that Lemmings truely jump to their deaths was "Disney magic" and the animals were just sent into a safe bathtub. I think the documentary has relivance to human behavior. Humans do as they are told not what they think and the shopping thing on friday is a perfect example of that behavior. I'm not one of the people who likes to shop during sales. The stores raise their prices just before thanksgiving so that they can give a person "50% off". The bargins that people get are illisions. So, what savings do you really get when you are still just spending money? ------------ About the author: Being a full time writer is the hardest job that I have tried.
