Nov. 24, 2004 It takes skill and a lot of chutzpah to re-write history. Besmirching the Puritans or the early American Pilgrims is one way, I guess, to make one feel better about a personal unbelief in God. Suggesting Christopher Columbus came to America specifically to conquer and kill Native Americans is much like saying the future’s “Federation of Planets” was specifically intended for the destruction of the Klingons. But, I digress. Bill Clinton is a loser. Yes, he was elected by a minority of voters in 1992 and 1996, but his legacy is that of destruction. He destroyed the honor and the integrity of the Office of President of the United States. Under his watch the Democrats lost their House majority and many governorships. After his inability to maintain the White House for Al Gore, the Democrats further lost their majority in the Senate. He was the nation’s second president to be impeached in office. So he could not even be first at that. But make no mistake, this whole “Lie-boratory” thing is an attempt to re-write his legacy of lies, deceit, fraud, mismanagement and corruption into a legacy of Paradisiacal proportions. Just a few of the headlines from the opening of Clinton’s “Lie-boratory”: 1) “Clinton Museum Accused of Historical Bias” (The New York Sun), 2) “I never lied about my job, sez Bill” (Daily News), 3) “Whitewashing Whitewater” (The Washington Times), 4) “Nixon Library doesn’t minimize Watergate” (The Washington Times). So like his book “My Lies”, the Clinton “Lie- boratory” is a tank full of the same scum that is meant to whitewash all the putrid stink of a corrupt and immoral administration. It saddens me that there are so many people believing Clinton is the epitome of the Democrat Party. It may be true that he is the epitome of liberalism, hiding in the guise of a moderate “black” former president. But he is also the poster boy for the definition of deceit. Seven dollars to view half-truths, cover-ups and historical re-writes. Gee! That would be like going to see a Michael Moore movie. William Jefferson Clinton will stand before an audience and command a fee of $100,000.oo to bash the Bush administration. The same Administration that has refused to speak one cross word against his inept legacy and his continual meddling in foreign policy matters. When Clinton spoke recently in Saudi Arabia, his anti-Bush rhetoric netted him $750,000.oo. That’s interesting. The two most important events on the day of the grand opening of the Clinton “Lie-boratory” were: 1) the rain, which had the effect of making those already all wet, all the wetter; and 2) The comments of President George W. Bush. Now, I have played the internet audio of President Bush’s remarks at this opening ceremony, President Bush again proved himself a person of class and forgiveness. He was extremely conciliatory and complimentary toward the man who has been trying in every way to destroy his administration, and was vehement against his reelection. The respect President Bush displayed in his remarks was not feigned. President Bush honors the office he holds and he displays nothing but respect for all those who have been elected to that office in the past. He understands the importance of displaying a united front in the face of enemies and political adversaries. Liberals got a lesson in “Class”. Class against Liberal Sass. It was no contest. ------------ About the Author: Michael John McCrae is just a guy with an opinion and a desire to express it.
