Nov. 24, 2004 I trust that everyone will have a Happy Thanksgiving with whoever they plan to share it with. We will be having a quiet celebration this year. This year I will be making sweet potato pie for the first time. My mother was an excellant pie maker and I have recalled most of her recipes. That is the ones with a dab of this and a pinch of that. But still with all the other noise and din going on over the upcoming Christmas Holidays, settling down to Thanksgiving will be a breeze. No we won't be traveling as we have a tendency to stay away from as much traffic as possible. Already my pets are thinking of the tasty morsels that they will be getting. We do hope with all that we have that others will be able to have a nice Thanksgiving. I really would like that others do something this holiday that does not cost much. No matter what your opinion is of the war in Iraq and I know how most of you feel, go out and thank a soldier. I was not feeling so good last week, fighting crooks that tap into your bank account makes you that way. So I changed to a new server that will block some of those rather nasty threatening emails I got. But you can make yourself feel better and the soldiers too by simply thanking them. I know it lifted my spirits to be able to hug and thank the ones that I found at the nearby Walmart Store. Earlier in the month I listed thirty other reasons to be thankful. I still hold to that but it just seems important to me that it would be nice to thank the soldiers. While we are at it go ahead and thank the emergency services personel that have to work. When you sit down to enjoy your meal be thankful also that you are able to express your views here. It does not matter if you agree with me or I with you be thankful. Also remember that sometimes a war of words is much better than a war with weapons. It would have been better for that hunter in Wisconsin to have just gotten off the deer stand. Instead he is facing six murder charges. I would ask that we still pray for peace. But again when people can't get along over a deer, how do you begin to start. Me I reckon I will be grateful for everyone here and still pray for peace to begin first with me. New email is not for solicitation.
