Nov. 24, 2004 First, let me just respond to Mr. Dan Rather is leaving the CBS stardom cage, where he has been anchor for 24-years.I kind of liked the guy, even though he had his arrogant moments, like Walter Cronkite, whom he replaced. He’s 73-years old, the old fart thinks now he can do as he pleases’, just like Annan, or our so called Secretary General at the United Nations. Not sure what this is, but these big shots, when they become big shots, get a little glory, like Clint Eastwood, and his groupie, they run with it and think the whole world is going to bow to them. Rather, Mr. Rather, tried to dethrone President Bush with his gobbolegook, just like the rest. The facts were not facts at all; they were stale as his breath. When you’re working on a man’s career or trying to take his job away, look at what you are doing. Like Old Europe, the only reason they wanted Bush out of the way, was the same reason they wanted Saddam to stay in power, self greed, money agreements. And for Rather it wanted to feel important about himself, before he checked out the facts. And with Annan-the-Cannon, it is all of the above. I had a friend come and join me yesterday at the café I have my coffee at, normally daily. In any case, he comes on Mondays usually, works for a State Prison on the other five days. He has written a few books, and is a poet and healer by his own proclamation. We normally do not talk on the war, he knows my stand, nor do we talk on Bush, but it came out yesterday: he said he bought some military bonds, stock of some kind that specifically deal with armament, he was specific in that because he wanted to know where his money was going, and not in all directions for the US military. I told him: well know you’re a hypocrite, I mean you preach against the war in Iraq, and you are supplying money for the military to purchase more arms. He didn’t see things that way (of course). I added: you are violating your values, if truly they are your values: being against the war. Again he did not see things that way. Matter of course, he pointed out an article justifying his actions (I didn’t question the integrity of the article, just the man who wrote it; it of course suited my friend fine, the article). Just the fact he had to read that article proved to me he was feeling guilty, and in such, in violation of his values, for that is exactly what the side effects are in such cases. I left it alone, he knew, I knew, another side of him now. To comfort him I even added to the discussion, that I’d never support willingly abortion clinics, or hospitals (I’d only work for them if I was starving, then I’d violate my values, and live with the guilt until I got myself back up off the ground, then I’d buy the clinic and stop the abortions. Something like that). In saying that I meant, I’d never buy stocks in them, nor could I go to a movie that a movie star has scornfully attacked a candidate of mine; why, because if it is not a protest, it is surely a stain on them when I watch their movie. I don’t see them as a movie star, but rather as a political radical. And I can’t put a face over on the other side of me, and watch the movie without thinking like that, some folks can, but then some folks can do anything like Ferry, I mean Kerry, so he said he could in so many words. That reminds me of the Financial Times that calls the political parties now: The Radical Republicans and the Moderate Democratizes. This FT paper must be owned by a Muslim. They are really something else. They had some kind of integrity a few years ago, but if it keeps up its hard bias views, it is no better than smut magazine. Now that reminds me of a Judge, our Supreme Court Judge William Rehuquist, who believes moralist Judges should be hanged, and belittles the constitution because its too old for contemporary views, like him, who has cancer. Too bad old man, Bush will now put in someone (if he goes out, and let’s hope he does) I hope with moralist views, while you die and go to hell old man. This judge wants abortion, gay rights up the nose, and feels it’s a sin not to have an atheist on the bench. He even wants suicide to be a right for the American people. If someone wants to kill themselves, it’s not hard to do, so the right in inside everyone who really wants to do it already, we don’t need a law for it, just find a bridged. I’ll send him a rose when he crocks. Let’s put Antonin Scalia, he is for the Radical Republicans, and for the words in our dear and beautiful constitution, each and every word. It is not too old for him. ------------ About the author: Mr. Siluk is a world traveler, a lover of the mysteries around the world, and has visit many World Heritage Sites, his most recent being Easter Island, the Galapagos and Mesa Verde.
