Nov. 23, 2004 Although the Thanksgiving Holiday and celebration were founded upon giving thanks to God, Maryland public schools have banned students from giving thanks to Him. This school system is adamant that ‘students may give thanks to anyone but, God’. Charles Ridgell, St. Mary's County Public Schools curriculum and instruction director, said: "We teach about Thanksgiving from a purely historical perspective, not from a religious perspective." The problem with this statement is that Thanksgiving, in the United States, was founded upon Christian religious tenets. Therefore, any accurate “historical perspective” must include the religious aspects of the fête. This is, yet, another example of the US public school systems working in concert with the atheist ACLU. This is the same tactic they have used for years to outlaw Christmas, in favor of ‘Winter Holiday’. However, recently Christmas is coming back and the ACLU has been [increasingly] less-than-successful in blocking the placement of Christmas decorations on public grounds. This Thanksgiving without God debacle is, also, another step toward the ACLU’s and other leftists’ attempts to bar God completely from the US. With the presidential election over, we voters have spoken. And, what we said was that we neither want nor will we accept a Godless and leftist run Socio-Communist form of government. However, as usual, what the left can’t win by elections it will try to force down our throats via intimidation or judicial command. For too many years, “Political Correctness” (AKA PC) has impinged upon our basic sanities; from raising our sons to be wimps our daughters to be amazons and teaching all of our children that competing for anything is a ‘bad thing’. These are not only insane practices but, are destroying our kids and the future leaders of our country. But, PC is another tactic toward the dissolution of the United States that the leftists have used… all too effectively. As we won the election, fair and square, isn’t it time we actually took the country back from the secularists and leftist nuts?
