Amber Frye; That Paragon Of Virtue

By Kristen Houghton
Nov. 16, 2004

Like most everyone else I watched the Scott Peterson trial with interest. The horrible death of the very pregnant Laci Peterson was grisly and disturbing. That Scott Peterson was convicted seemed as if justice had been done. I have no problem with the fact that he was convicted or with the fact that his “girlfriend” helped seal the prosecutor’s case. What I have a problem with is how glorified some people seem to make that paragon of virtue, Amber Frye.

May I be blunt here? Amber is what was once delicately called a “woman of ill-repute.” She is not Mother Teresa or even a nice girl to take home to mother. She is a woman who has slept around-quite a bit. To paint her as a victim is ludicrous. She is no more a victim than was that other “Lady of Virtue,”Monica Lewinsky. Please!!

Ms. Frye, who is at home nursing her new baby, (she has two but somehow managed not to marry either child’s father), did do a service by helping to trap the libido driven Mr. Peterson, but please stop with those taped conversations already. She just goes on and on and on. She has had more than her fifteen minutes of fame.

We seem to have a penchant in this country for glorifying women like Ms. Frye and Ms. Lewinsky, as if they are role models. Role models for what? How to “play house” with someone else’s husband? Amber Frye is not a woman about whom we need to know more, nor is she a woman worth any more of our time or the media’s.

I don’t feel sorry for Amber. I don’t believe she had no inkling that this man was married. I believe she is a predator out to get whatever she can through any means possible. She saw an opportunity to get in front of the camera, make some cash, and took it. You did notice, didn’t you, how she was spruced up with new hair color, make-up, and clothes before she was trotted out to “meet the press” by Gloria Allred.

I have no patience with someone like Ms. Frye who whines that she was victimized and taken in by a man. Come on now, Amber, you’re no victim. And, honey, you’re the taker.

If we just ignore publicity hungry “ladies” like Amber and Monica, maybe they’ll go away. Our interest feeds their illicit little lives.
